LIVING THE DREAM
I see it's the Tin Can Ten Time Trial. Think I might do the Winter Cup 7

I see Artanenc, the U23 lung on legs, has aced stage 7 at 446 watts, 7.19 Watts/Kg whilst maxing out on HR at 153 bpm.
Granted at 56 I am well warmed up at 153 bpm but an U23 could smoke and drink a beer at that HR (but probably no if your outputting an average of 7.19 W/kg).
I bet he is like Gregg Lemond and can blow tubs up from his lungs as well.

Not a patch on our LB though!
He drives a Freight Train for a living, literally.

Good to see you pushing 180 bpm DP and putting the U23 to shame with your big HR numbers.

Pep would do well to beat Artanenc even with his dodgy power readings! I think LB should have a go at stage 7 and put up a silly time just to dick pep off...

Anyone here have really wide feet and able to recommend some wide fitting cycling shoes? I had a follow up bike fit this morning . The bike fitter identified post ITB patella issues arising from strain due to a move to speedplay pedals post original bike fit and choice of shoe. He tried to fit my cleats so center between 1st and 5th metatarsal. Unfortunately he could not fit them far enough back because the drillings on my Specialised BG shoes do not extend back far enough. The reason? I had bought a sise too big, and so too long, so that i could accommodate my absurdly wide, fallen arched feet. They may be comfortable but with cleat too far forward i was putting too much strain on knee that i then dealt with by lowering saddle and so I need to replace them. The shoes not the knees! Recommendations warmly received.
Arione saddle/seatpost up 19mm, flattened out a bit-it was nose down 5mm- and bars rotated down stretching me out even more from what was already a semi aggressive position. Advised to go back with new shoes and get some custom soles to correct the pronation and will not charge for the final retul fit once all these things done.
Shimano do a wide shoes at a resonable price. At size 48/49 most road shoes are too narrow for me. I've only been able to get wide versions in shimano so far.

Ta for recommendations.
I tried bonts before but unfortunately you only get the width with the additional length. Some people have have tried to shape them wider during the moulding process but if you cannot get them to fit you are stuck with them. Re Shimano just seen these which look promising;

Get them from wiggle and if they are not suitable just return them post free

I feel so sick. I made the mistake of not going off fast enough as i was looking for you. By the time i realised you was up front i was in chase mode, but just did not have the legs (or lungs) to get anywhere near you :notworthy: The gunk i'm coughing up now is not pleasant xx(

I expected you to shoot off and thus my early effort. Once in the top three, it was all a about trying to manage the gap. Randy's ghost absolutely bombed past me - I think he was on LB's bike..

The last half mile was a real struggle keeping @Goldwolfie away.

I'm hoping to do CG tomorrow at 5 if my legs have recovered.. hope to see you there.

No, I went off at a 'normal' push looking to get on your wheel. Didn't see you shoot off up the road. By then it's too late - couldn't ever bridge that 20+ second gap and by the end all the chasing took its toll.

I was being dropped like a lead balloon again on the 3-5% sections ... everyone just flying past me. We'd then get to the flatter sections and i'd go past them again and pull away. Very strange. i'd hit the small inclines doing maybe 240 watts, and push up to 280watts. And despite that, riders were zooming past and creating 8-10 second leads in the matter of a few seconds.
