If I'm honest, and I am most of the time, I'm hoping the weather will be cak and I can spend the weekend chillin. I haven't committed to the ride, opting to sign up on the day, so I'll be watching the weather closely. If it looks grim, the bike stays at hame... May even pop over to Mull.. ⛴

I couldn't resist a last hurrah before they turn the lights out up here, so.. I signed up.. a little rain never hurt no one..right...!

Beer always tastes better after hauling my ass over 5000 feet.. Oban hills here I come..

I'd prefer to have my walking boots on with a hip flask for the way back than constant uphill on a bike. Give me the flatlands any day! Good luck and enjoy those beers to ease the aching posterior!

i think the ride from Arran to Oban is one of the best i have been on ! the scenery was so good i ended up riding off the road just because of gawping around !

Aye, rode Arran a couple of week back and it was very nice, apart from spending a short time on my head... I've visited Oban a few times but never cycled in the area, I'm looking forward to it. Weather isn't looking too good but I'm up for it now..

Well that's the Summer Cup done for me, having done stage 12 last night (which I didn't find too bad, suggesting I didn't try hard enough!) - hoping it'll be enough for a top 10 finish (if I'm 12th I'm still counting it as top 10 with the ELITE trainer boys in first and second!)

As the SC isn't a live stage tonight does anyone fancy doing a CG stage at 7pm? (Like in the olden days)

I also need to do SC12 so if you're available at 7pm Jim. I'm happy to set it up with hopefully enough ghosts to suit us both and anyone else who wants to join in.

Feel free to use my ghost but you won't see me after the first mile ..... I'll be going backwards at a fast pace! Didn't like SC12 at all. Lost 1min 30 secs to my closest rival and he is now 6 seconds ahead of me in the GC. Question is, do I try to get those 6 seconds back and knacker myself for the IoW, or do I concede defeat and bow to a better cyclist :surrender:

Hmm very good question Whorty. I'd like to see you on the start line tonight but I must admit that if it were me I'd be saving myself for the IOW. Will definitely be using your ghost though so at least the virtual you will be there. :bravo:

I'll be ready in 10 mins so have opted for a re-run of SC2. Only done that once before so I'm hoping I can knock 6 seconds off without killing myself and scuppering my chances of beating the others up the hills on the IoW
