:banghead: I am a spanner what can I say..

I could lie and say I wanted to take one for the team but actually I wanted a painfully undulating course to test out how truly bad the lunatic gears are on my new toy (Wattbike Atom, birthday present last week from HID ) and it was painful (still) - with the gears, I was always in the wrong one, the signal from the BSim takes an age to change gradient (incline and decline) so looking at the upcoming % isn't enough, if you're changing from flat to 4% and drop a load of cogs then you'll be almost freewheeling until the 4% lands like a brick wall so instead you have to just wait for the pain then react to it. Bkool say they're in the process of "certifying it" so hopefully it's part of their 'focus' on software and wont take too long. Having said all that it does seem to register watts more quickly than the Tacx and more of them 👍 so a more competitive time but my ave HR was 10BPM higher - that's more to do with being chased by my own ghost though so not really a useful power comparison.👻👻👻👻

I have not heard 'spanner' for years!

will do! should be a lil easier than a few days back, turns out that a sinus infection isnt very compatible with cycling lol

Got one of those at the moment too, and have to say I really didn't enjoy last night ride much. Couldn't get my heart rate over 155 in the first half and felt weak enough to know that if I pushed it too hard I'd probably not be able to finish. Got my hear rate into the 160's in the second half and felt a bit quicker, but still loosing much ground to the guys in front. My secret weapon (new conti gp400s tyre) doesn't seem to have helped at all in the last 3 stages so quite confused about that. A year ago it seemed to make a big difference for the first few rides.
Won't be able to make the re-run on Saturday as I have a 5pm appointment with a Chinese acupuncture doctor to see if he can fix my blocked sinuses. I've tried about everything else.

Yes, I wish we had the old drafting when it was easy to sit on somebody's wheel. It meant you would sit up if you had a couple of seconds lead to actually work with somebody until the end when they would then out sprint you, @BILL S I'm looking at you! It also meant that one person couldn't stay away from two of a similar level working together, just like the real world. I know that bkool know that this is an issue. At least we've got the better graphic back though that could be better if the rider that was you was a different colour, I never know which one is me!
The one not moving is you, which in your case, understandably, is quite confusing ^_^

Sadly I'll be on the injured reserve list. I had an MRI on Monday needed to get a steroid injection for an ongoing lumbar spinal stenosis problem and they found a synovial cyst on the cervical spine. So I have a referral to a neurosurgeon in Seattle and will get the surgery next month.
The good news is my team green contract will allow me to keep my salary and endorsements while I'm on the bench for the next 6 weeks.
Maybe you could start tryouts today. @Goldwolfie if you make the team don't be too disheartened if you hear" oh he's OK but he's no Berlin on the downhills. Now there's a real trencherman! "
Hope all goes well with the recovery @Randyberlin - just catching up on the chat, as I've had a couple of days in Portugal watching my football team.
If I do manage to catch the team team selectors eye and make a team, I'm sure my aerodynamic 17 stone frame will be a match for most on the downhills, but the up hill bits are not my cup of tea.
Take it easy 'young' man, and don't over do it until you are fully sorted.

Yep, your svelte physic has caught the selectors eye.... Prepare for pain!

As captain of the celtic cruisers I've tried my best to lead by example and would welcome a wolves fan of 17 stone, I've tried all week at my training camp in gran canaria to carb load falling short of the target but it's the effort that counts

I even had a team sky member point out my cheesecake wasn't sufficient and shown me how to add a cream horn and something else full of cream

Oh captain, my captain, leading by example. Self sacrifice for the good and the team is there no beginning to what you will put yourself through for team green? Except obviously a rerun of November Stage 1?

I'll start the fun at 5PM UK.

All approved stage 5 CC ghosts added, except @Rod McG which I couldn't find. His time was 50m48s for those of you trying to beat his time. Added a few bots into the mix as well...

I am going to miss the re-run which in my case was not re.
I had forgotten the 'going to London to see the kids before Christmas' that I must have agreed to whilst reviewing my latest stats/buying an online bargain I might really need oneday/helping some total stranger (probably in another country) fix thier Mini R56.

What happened @AndyMacca you were gong so well!
Bkool just lost the Ant+ signal and zeroed out RPM,watts,HR etc. :cursing: Annoying as my tablet and watch were fine unfortunately they don't report back to bkool so wouldn't give me a time. It reconnected a minute later so I figured being the 30th Nov it was the last chance to register a time for the team, restarted and took it out on the crank but second time round never as good as the first. Still I'm glad I did it, normally would have walked away. Technology... 🤦‍♂️
