I seem to be struggling with getting any grip from my rear tyre whilst on the Bkool, if I try and stand up the wheel just spins, thinking about getting a turbo specific tyre but not sure which one or can anyone recommend an alternative solution.

Monte, I use gatorskins on road and turbo, found them great and no slippage.

Good luck. For practice I saw that Rayvon added a 150 mile "coast to coast in a day"ride.

That's the coast to coast ride, I did it back in 2014, fantastic day, link below signed up again for next year

Hi All

Apologies for this post to the cycle chat bkool community and hope no one is offended that I have posted this here. Sorry if this is out of order. Just trying to raise as much as possible.

It's just that I’ve set myself a bit of a challenge, raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. All the details are in the link below:-

https://www.justgiving.com/Paul-Fleming10

If you could contribute a small something, no matter how little, that would be fantastic and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

And if anyone is mad enough to join me, that would be simply brill but places do go fast so let me know asap.

A BIG thank you if you are able to contribute or even just give me some moral support.

Need to get some serious winter training in on the bkool!!

Paul

Hello, new member here!

I have recently bought the Bkool and have ridden a few times on it. I am very pleased with it so far.

One of the selling points to the wife was for her to use it as a normal turbo trainer. She isn't likely to want to virtually cycle through the Alps, but I've found on YouTube a number of spin classes that I think she would like to have a go at.

Can you set up the trainer to have manually adjusted resistance, like a basic trainer? So that when the video tells her to increase resistance, she would be able to do something on the computer which will increase it?

I've had a look through the manual and can't find anything, so wondered if anyone here knew.

I have a friend who uses the Sufferfest videos, so I would like to use the trainer with him, but I would require the same functionality.

Thanks for any help.

I may go off and do stage 3 of the tour now ....

Hi Edd

Welcome to the club!

I'm not aware of any way of setting it up to adjust the resistance manually like you say.

If it's any consolation my wife uses my account on the bkool and picks out some relatively flat courses to do against her previous bests or some other ghosts. Seems to keep her motivated.

Hope you can join in some of the races online. Check out the summer league that is just starting. Details a few posts back.

Regards

Rickb

Thanks for your help Rickb. That is unfortunate, but I'm still loving it!

I joined the summer league, but as I have a holiday in the next few weeks I will be ineligible as I won't be able to ride the two indoor sessions on that week. However it should be enjoyable to do the different routes.

Thanks again.

Oooooo... wasnt sure if I'd be up for this as I feel a bit off today, but that guy is the one I'd been having a few close battles with in previous races so I could be tempted! I see he has jumped to Pro level now (and I'm still stuck on Active 5! :shy:)

Must confess to being a bit reluctant myself having ridden Puerto de Mainar last night for the Bkool Summer league. That is one tough hill for the first half if you're pushing hard and I did tell myself that I'd never do it again . Might just have to do it again and take it a bit easier this time though.

Interesting what you're saying about that guy and him being at pro level now (pro 3 actually). I'm surprised we're still able to give him any kind of a race at all with that being the case but it could be that he mostly puts in the real effort during his FTP's.

Anyone know how I can get "CycleChat Chain Gang" to come up under the group heading in the rankings? To help promote our team

Been having a look. The only thing I can see as a possibility is putting in a Sport club under your profile. For some reason though when I enter something and save it, it disappears again !?! Must see if it works better from my home PC.

I tried the same but as you say, it just disappears. How did you do it Lars?
