Well that was a fun race or me. The internet connection was dodgy tonight so struggled to join in then I lost the connection part way in. Knew it would come back though so dug in and pushed as hard as I could. Connection re-established, saw the big hill up front and saw Ryan somewhere over a minute behind. At that point I knew the writing was on the wall. Wasn't remotely disconcerted to see you cruise past Ryan, as I'm totally used to it by now ;).Thought I might catch you on the downhill but you're actually pretty quick there too.

well done everyone, great effort by Bridgy on his first ride - another one for you guys up the front to battle with. I did push hard tonight but legs were still really heavy from Tuesday's Alpe d'heuz. If i'm about on Saturday I'm up for another go
I was going to push to stay with Bridgy, but couldn't. The goat ride I did I seemed to join one already started so didn't get any warm up, the first 2.5k was painful and I didn't recover. I can't make the Saturday rerun as I'm track cycling with the club, but I might have another go on Saturday morning, I'm sure I've got at least 90 seconds I can find.

Well that was tough but thanks for the encouragement on the latter stages of the climb, as I was just about done At least the scenery was good to look at, as I only saw the rest of you for the first 100 yards.
Could someone accept my ride - might as well get all that effort recorded. My Chain Gang and Moose rides always end up with a red cross against the weight row. I haven't changed the weight since I created my account - do I need to do anything to sort this out.
Cheers

well that was harder than expected whorty you surely dropped me on that 1
I'm really poor at climbs any advise guys

I saw that hill coming up Rob so took the first part of the ride a bit easier to save something for later. I could see you and Kev pushing each other early on and hoped you would do each other in. It half worked, but still couldn't quite catch Kev. At one point I was equal to Carolina but then she pulled away, then I pulled up to within 2 secs of Kev and the legs just couldn't push any more power on the flattish bit towards the top of the hill and he get 40 secs on me.

Interesting to see the lightweight Carolina get nailed on the hill by Kev and CJBon .... that extra 'muscle' certainly helped gravity create more speed  I assume Carolina is light anyway, as her watts were 50 less than me, yet her watt to KG is higher. Explains why I couldn't hold her wheel on the climb

Only advise i can give, for what it's worth, is just keep doing hill rides. This chain gang is pretty much the only 'flat' ride I do. I'm trying hard to build power into these scrawny legs

Don't worry about it. It'll keep doing that til we start the next league, then it'll settle down. Just give us a prompt to accept the rides if we don't catch them ourselves.

I never quite got the hang of looking at the speed colour to see if I should freewheel or not. Usually I just spin as fast as possible then freewheel and watch the speed to make sure its staying high. I could do with a 53/11 though as mine is a 50/11 and often feels way too under geared.

That was hard!! Not sure whether pushing up the hill, or spinning like crazy down it was harder though! Well done everyone. This is the first turbo trainer I've had and I'm sure there's no way I would push that hard without the competition to focus on.

I do need to learn how to start though - I ended up sat at the start for ages while everyone rode off into the distance, and it wouldn't let me start! (Well it felt like ages!)
