Chaingang Race tonight 7pm

Course: Spin round the block with Liam
http://www.bkool.com/classification/showIndividualStageClassification/4873

25 km rolling course - no big hills or descents

Warm-up begins at 7pm for 10 minutes - look for it under the 'Live' tab between 7 and 7:10pm - if you cant see it use the advanced search at the bottom of the screen and search for 'Rickb'. Do not start a session from the League tab - you must join it from the Live tab if you want to race against each other. Remember to stop pedaling well before the end of the warm up.

See you on the start line! :pump:

If there are any downhills your 'super power' turns into a super deficit.
Would recommend cycleops vct for any vortex users who require a more honest experience.
They seem to have got there virtual speed a little more sorted between trainers than bkool.
Have a nice Thursday,
Lars P. Engstrum.

Thanks Al, Here are your details:
Weight: 81
Watts: 370
Strava Time: 16.58
Bike Calculator: 18.19

So your effort looks correctly calculated. Strangely a bit more accurate than Bill S's, I'm adding all of this data to a spreadsheet so maybe we can spot some trends over time. I think for the next stage I'll try and ride with Ryan's ghost the whole way and see how different the results are. It seems like it should be something @Bkool could fix if they were interested? But I can't see me keeping paying a subscription when it's so far away from real life, especially not when Zwift seem to have all of this stuff working well.

If anyone else wants me to add their Goat 1 attempt, then throw up a link to your strava activity.

Thanks for doing all this Rob. I think it will provide us with the data we need to calculate any factors that may need to be included in future league results.
It seems to me that for each league stage we could use your calculation on a vortex ride and a bkool pro ride and apply a percentage adjustment to the vortex ride time. So far it seems that the Classic has the more accurate ride time but as the pro's are by far the most popular unit it would make sense to use the pro as the benchmark that others could be adjusted to. I don't know if it would be worth making an adjustment to the classic times as they are so close. Your calculation could also be used where there is a rogue pro or classic unit which is producing unrealistic times.
I understand what you're saying about paying your subscription though because needing to have your ride adjusted each time means that you can never get a true "real time" readout or be able to use ghosts the way others can. Of course the best thing would be if bkool would solve the problem themselves.

edit: Just a further thought to add even more confusion. When I got my newer pro unit that had the capability to update the firmware(and therefore has the latest firmware) I couldn't make as much wattage as I could previously with my original pro. Others have experienced the same. Does this mean we can't even rely on the power readout to be compatible between different trainer types? Hope this isn't opening too big a can of worms.

Does this mean the bkools and the vortexes will get to have a proper shootout? Might be interesting to do Rob's calculation and see how close they are on this ride.

One thing I have noticed over the last 5 or 6 days is that my resting heart rate (RHR) has shot up by about 20bpm, peaking @70bpm over mon-wed,. It was on its way up last friday/saturday, but I put that down to a little over indulgence . But I now think it may also have been the early stages of the illness .
I am back down to very low 60's so could be very nearly over the illness. Just need to get back on the bike :bicycle:.

Hi Baldo. Was looking to see if you made it into the goats but no sign of your name there. Do you have a different bkool name?

Could be that Rick knows your name and let you in already
