I didn't think I'd make it myself this afternoon but the missus has just declared she wants to watch the rugby. Hopefully this means I can slope off from attentive partner / parenting duties and join in the fun!

To be fair though, the way people are lining up the excuses, I could have the course all to myself!

Weather here is biblical, anyone doing anything outside is likely to get drowned or blown over! I certainly wouldn't want to get involved in any outdoor cycling! :girldance:

Whorty you got a "I'm not a bandit" speech prepared for about 5:45 this afternoon?
If I roll in to the finish at 5:45 i will be so surprised, and chuffed, that I'd be happy to be re-handicapped at 10 minutes  My best time on this course is 48 mins, so even if I could gain the 6 minutes fitness I seem to have waylaid in New York I'd still not be coming in until 5:48 :heat:

That would be well ahead of everyone else, as even if AAAC can match his time from Thursday he will be finishing at 5:52.

Go for it... :hyper:

interesting ... I was 54 mins on Thursday so if I could knock off 2 minutes from that time, I could roll in with @AAAC 76C .... could be my first and only ever time to race AAAC to the line :bicycle: all I need to do now is lose 2 minutes ... hmmm

Rick,

How did your race go?
Pretty good actually. Not being a runner I actually felt not too bad during the first leg - resting since Tuesday paid off as I usually have pains in my feet and funny twinges. I was about halfway down a 60 strong field after the first leg - ran the 2 miles in just over 15 minutes.

Transition wasnt flawless getting the shoes changed but didnt take too long till I was underway on the bike. Was quite blowy and the first part was a headwind but just paced it best I could - experience on Bkool definitely helps to regulate how hard to push so I just keep spinning away and overtook over 10 bikes and no-one came past me (which was nice!). Was over 31 minutes for the bike but no-one was doing very quick times given the conditions.
On to the last run - my legs had left me, I was getting a stitch in the side and gasping for air. Getting off the bike and trying to run isnt a natural feeling!! No idea how slow I was on the last 2 miles but I had to walk on a couple of occasions, but even with that only one guy came past me so I must have really opened up a sizeable gap from the faster runner when on the bike!

Finished 17th out of 60 in a time of 1:05:16. :wahhey:
