I would quantify it as, 'just enough!'

I am fecked!
Bill, when you shot off for the last time you were literally next to me 1 second and then you weren't there and then suddenly up the road and 11secs in front. You must have put down some amazing power. That broke me given I was pretty much on the limit. Sorry I couldn't hold on for the finish. Back to sewing...^_^
LB:notworthy:

I have just heard about the discovery of gravitational wave that effect time space. Evidently Bill has known for some time.

Well done GW for your promotion to AM4. Surely you must be an active level with the performance you're capable of? I don't know how bkool quantifies one level to another. Can anybody shed light?

It sets your fitness level either through you doing an FTP test, which you can schedule via the "Fitness" tab in your profile, or from your average watts in a 30 minute or more ride.

Within the fitness tab on your profile it will tell you what you need to do to get to the next level

The fitness levels are based on watts per kg. there is matrix somewhere explaining it in more detail but I can't find it right now

Alan and Roleur - great battle guys :heat:

Great battle for the minor places @RickB. We seemed to work well together for a mile or 2 then you attacked two or 3 times and finally dropped me as we approached 2 miles to go. I dont know what it was about tonight but i was in heart rate zone 5 for most of that but my power was well below zone 3.

Bob, I was actually trying to get you and Bridgy into a good drafting routine but it just never seemed to happen. I thought this was our only chance of catching LB but we'd have needed to draft for a long time to catch him. We needed to ride much more steady and help each other but I think we are maybe too much rivals to do that. Next time, and I'm sure there will be a next time soon enough we should definitely try.
Well done LB, you were just making a lot more power than the rest of us today.

I see you cruising in at the end there Bill trying to keep any future possible handicap down to the minimum.
You can't fool me!
I missed tonight as the wife was working till 7:15 which turned out to be 7:45 so I was still at work at 7:05.
Hadn't even started eating the fish n' chips before you had all finished, in fact I wasn't even home.

I'm surprised at how watchable these Bkool events are, they are quite compelling. Hope I didn't distract you too much Soarer, but you did well to catch Steve up, I didn't think you would, unfortunately I got disconnected as it happened.

But good skills those who took part. And Insom, if you fancy partnering up for a crack at it tomorrow evening, I would be game? And anyone else that fancies it? I'll start a session at 8pm tomorrow evening, feel free to jump in. Of course I understand that most will be saving legs for the rerun on Saturday. Hoping to make that too.

Would I do thing like that AAAC?
Funny though, the days of sprinting to the line at 500watts could be well and truly over now .
We still have the Mountain Goats for that at least:smile:

Yep I caught him then we reached what I suspect could only be described as a mild slope and fatkins here couldn't keep up and he zoomed off.

I think it would be really interesting one day to run an event where we all set our weight to the same amount to see what difference it makes. That is probably the thing most likely to help me stop the deep fried pukka pies.

I tried to capture examples of both drafting and descending to see if the watts/speed, etc. showed anything interesting.

It certainly seemed like quite a spread of speeds at the same gradient down the steep hill. I went through the pack trying to show the speed at the same point on the descent.

Hard to see how much difference the drafting made to the power!

Geoff
BTW, it appeared that bkool's simulator is doing an adjusted speed for kickrs when going downhill. I've got no feel for its accuracy (still meaning to put in a reverse climb in bkool, ride it and compare to my real world data -- it's just not high priority right now).

I really ought not go out without a carer or grown up of some description, when I was putting my bib shorts on tonight I managed to get one of the over the shoulder bits inside the shorts so when I pulled the other one up to go over my shoulder I gave myself a fairly impressive wedgie. That on reflection probably affected my performance this evening.

That's fine, but I suspect it would be better to go with my weight rather than yours.

The self proclaimed title of 'fatkins' has me a little nervous!

Thanks for the link Kipster - it makes sense now.

After dusting off the bathroom scales I adjusted my weight on my Bkool profile the other day. Down 4 kg to 106 kg, not a great deal but it's a start.

So my watts per kg will have gone up slightly, so that probably just pushed me onto the next level - by us 'big boys' have to make some 'heat' to rise up the levels:heat:
