All sounds fantastic Bob, apart from the buckled wheel. Great to know that you're confident the turbo racing has helped. I'm also certain of that too. I'd definitely consider joining you next year if the Mrs will let me and if I don't injure myself beforehand as I quite often do. Actually my Cyclist Palsy problem would probably get the better of me during a few days in the Alps unfortunately.
Ah well, now that I'm back from my weeks holiday I suppose I'd better go and do the next Bkool Summer Cup ride:unsure:.

I know a nice and cheap apartment complex with an indoor pool, sauna and steam room if that will help with the Mrs Bill?:okay:

I am hoping Bkool convert my rides to 3d. My Virb didn't arrive in time so no video. Shame too given on descent of Roseland into the valley a low flying helicopter swooped low overhead hugging the contours before disappearing around a corner. Pretty dramatic. Spectacular really.

Hopefully the CP will heal Bill. I remember reading up about it when you first mentioned it and it did seem a condition you can recover from.

Just one thing though about riding long ascents in real life compared to Bkool. You can stand on the pedals not just to change position and ease muscle or back tension but to also develop more power. I would often do this and jump up a gear. You cannot do this on the trainer without a risk of wheel spin and loss of power. It's one of the few hardware weaknesses of Bkool trainers but it is a significant one particularly if you climb like contador rather than Froom- stylistically anyway.

It would be good to get some of us together for a mountains trip. I really enjoy riding alone but think the experience and friendly competitiveness could be explosive!

It even shows the wrong time on My Activity/History. strange!!!!
I got caught with reading the wrong times initially too. For some reason bkool lists the times including warm up - you have to go in to the ride details to see the actual ride time. Stupid if you ask me!

On the plus side it does include the warm-up miles when you upload to Strava.

Totally agree.
BKOOL take note!

Well that is something I suppose.
I'd rather have the correct time on display instead tho if I'm honest.

Well, that depends how you look at it. IMO warmup is just an arbitrary value from 0-10 minutes and cooldown likewise an arbitrary value between 0 and 5 minutes, both obscuring the real effort.
I posted a suggestion at Bkool English to generally use the main time and not the total time.

Agreed Lars. I also think bkool should get that sorted. The tiny positive I was able to find was a reduction in my guilt at seeing my sometimes puny weekly mileage figure on strava being bulked up by those useless warmup and cool down miles. So not really even a plus as I need a good kick sometimes to get myself to put in the real miles.

Anyone had any success in uploading a session to Garmin connect via a file ? Garmin supposed to except FIT files but comes up with error when I try ?

Just did that and still had to average 380 watts :-(
I think I will keep on challenge you and try to stick with you longer and longer, so don't worry if you keep getting the challenge notifications...worry if you don't ^_^
Well, I think I'll remain satisfied for now with being within 20 seconds from your time. I better move along to the other stages,

Well that was one of the stages that suited me well. There are others where you will beat me easy. Hindeloopen for example where I put in serious effort yesterday but could only manage 12th place. I'll probably have another go later on but for now will try to concentrate on the latest rides as they become available.
One thing I do know is that certain stages give me a big advantage over some much stronger riders. FMpando is one who I have beaten twice now. I cannot stay with you up the hills but can pull away on the down hills so I'm wondering if its a tyre/tyre pressure thing. I am running at 120/130 psi for minimum tyre/roller friction.

So after finally connecting remotely to my computer yesterday, Bkool have agreed that my resistance unit is faulty and I am to have it replaced through Wiggle where it was purchased. Hopefully Wiggle won't make this a long winded process.

Bkool dealt with me directly and have sent me out a new one. They seem to work differently each time as last time I had to go through Sigmasport.
Arrived when I was away for a few days there. Would need to take it out and check it! Still got the old one too which they were supposed to collect when delivering the other.

With my return to wiggle on the classic version, they sent it off to the importer to 'check it', I had to chase a couple of times. The second time they said, it wasn't fair to keep me waiting and offered a refund or replacement. As I wanted the pro version, I went for a refund, plus as it was a new purchase the warranty started again.

Yeah, this is what concerns me but bkool have told me to forward wiggle the email where bkool says it is faulty as that should help the process. Also not sure if wiggle will want to deal with the resistance only change out as they tried to get me to change the whole unit when it was just the rubbing cover problem. Mind you, I wish I'd swapped out the whole unit then as I hopefully have got an updateable one back.
I'll be interested to see if the unit feels any different in use. Anyone know if they still have the rubbing cover problem, in which case I should probably keep my good cover just in case?

Just finished my first session with my replacement one and all's good. Its set to version 3.6, the fan doesnt rub at all (seems quieter even than the last one), cadence is still reading high at times but doesnt seem half as erratic on first glance.

Push them for a swap out, as Bkool take ages sending out a unit - you could be without one for 2-3 weeks if you send yours in first.
