That was hard!! Not sure whether pushing up the hill, or spinning like crazy down it was harder though! Well done everyone. This is the first turbo trainer I've had and I'm sure there's no way I would push that hard without the competition to focus on.

I do need to learn how to start though - I ended up sat at the start for ages while everyone rode off into the distance, and it wouldn't let me start! (Well it felt like ages!)
I did that last week just started pedaling to early:wacko: hope to see u get a quick start next week bridgy.

Had to have a lay down in a darkened room after that one
Difficult course for us more mature riders!!

Good ride Bridgy, gaining on me all the way up the hill (i mean mountain!), luckily i was still a few seconds up at the top and managed to keep it spinning to the finish.

Yeah I thought it was a hard course - but I'm starting to think any course is going to be hard against you guys!

Certainly found that one tough myself. You guys were keeping the pressure on the whole way! :heat:

I think I need to rest the legs today for Saturdays ride. Found it hard to get into a rhythm on the climb as the gradient kept jumping around - didn't suit me at all! :surrender:

As always - still enjoyed it!

I never quite got the hang of looking at the speed colour to see if I should freewheel or not. Usually I just spin as fast as possible then freewheel and watch the speed to make sure its staying high. I could do with a 53/11 though as mine is a 50/11 and often feels way too under geared.
I thought by the way you motor down hill you had a 55/11 setup Bill :giggle:
I actually worked out the difference in gear ratios between using a 53 front and a 50 front ring and
its not as much as I expected, it was something like, over 5 miles at at 110rpm the time difference
is about 25 seconds so about 5 seconds per mile, thats if my calculations are correct.
I was thinking about changing from a 50 to a 52 or 53 chainring but after working out the difference
I think I`ll just have to pedal faster to get anywhere near you :notworthy:

Nice bike for the money Ash, but the gearing would put you at a slight disadvantage in a race situation. Probably depends how much racing you want to do on the bkool...
Yeah was thinking that but I tend to be more into my own thing really...sure @kipster runs a triple not sure of his gearing though
