I am thinking of putting a different rear wheel on my bike just for the trainer (I upgraded the wheels and still have the originals). I have both a 23mm and 25mm tyre knocking around in the garage - is there any concencus as to whether one would be better than the other on the Bkool?

I thought about getting a triple. However when I did the comparison between a 34/32 and a 30/32 the difference was minimal. I decided to stick with the 11/32 50/34 setup I have and get better at pushing the gears.

It seems to be working for me. I am now riding 1 or 2 gears higher for a given cadence on a given slope. I am not saying it is easy but I moved in the right direction, I think .

I would prefer a compact...as its what's on my other bikes...but that bike is only available as a triple

Its great when you can see the improvement that like. Well done and you're definitely going the right direction!

I thought by the way you motor down hill you had a 55/11 setup Bill :giggle:
I actually worked out the difference in gear ratios between using a 53 front and a 50 front ring and
its not as much as I expected, it was something like, over 5 miles at at 110rpm the time difference
is about 25 seconds so about 5 seconds per mile, thats if my calculations are correct.
I was thinking about changing from a 50 to a 52 or 53 chainring but after working out the difference
I think I`ll just have to pedal faster to get anywhere near you :notworthy:
Working it the other way round, the difference in gear inches from 50/11 to 53/11 is 7.1 inches, at 110 rpm that works out at just under 20 meters per minute.

Thanks.

The thing about it never getting easier is kinda true . You just get better at harder stuff :okay:

I've just done a session I got kicked out of, before the firmware update to my pre aug 2014 classic, due to too fast an acceleration (not a league ride) and completed it. I am now thinking about going back to have another go at the 3 T100 rides I have been booted from. I hope I can get them done. Non completion of a session when you didn't stop it is, how can I say this politely, :cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing: frustrating. Especially when you have an hour on it :banghead: :cursing: :surrender:
