Well done all. That was a pretty tough ride. Apart from nearly catching you with that one good slingshot AAAC you were always pretty safe out in front. Bob & Rick, I'm guessing you were both slightly the worse for wear as you'd normally be right on my case at that kind of speed. LB's ghost too.

It certainly was.
I tried to bridge and then hold with you Bill so we could work together to try and worry AAC but nowt in the legs or the lungs. Sorry about that. I Must try harder!
Very happy new year to all!

Happy New Year to you all. Sorry for this lazy post/question but how do you guys/girls record your Bkool/Zwift rides etc. on Strava i.e. to still record distance, elevation but not to show on real world leader boards (not that I would anyway!). I know that there have been posts on here but recall Strava changed their settings recently. Thanks folks.

A question if I may..

How do you draft? I mean how close do you have to be I can't seem to pull it off I either go too hard and drop the guy I'm with or get dropped myself.

On the Bkool website, go to your profile and there is a setting to link to Strava.

Any normal rides on Strava will sync to Bkool as well as Bkool to Strava.

If you don't want that, you can export the ride from Bkool as a .fit file and import into Strava, just make sure it is set as a 'virtual ride'.

It's a bit of a nightmare to be honest. Unless the person in front is being very steady you end up Yo Yo ing back and forward past them. I've managed it sometimes and it makes a huge difference. If theres 3 people it becomes much easier.

Like Rick says, it's a bit tricky. I don't know why but in Zwift, even when racing someone, it seems much easier to draft than in bkool. But then drafting is pretty tricky in real life and is probably a learnt skill, dependant on the experience of draftee and drafror. It might help if you could see and so compare the speed of the rider you are trying to draft so reducing the risk of over shooting or falling off the pace.

You can do the iconic hairpins of the Alp d'Huez in 30min!
Takes me closer to 40

40 minutes!!!!
Oh lord, and to think that I was actually pleased with my time of 1 hour and several more minutes than I care to admit to.
When I got to the top of that mountain I wanted to have a bit of a victory celebration, but I was so tired getting off the bike was hard enough.

thanks

I have tried a few times to draft ghosts, but as others do, I either drop the other rider, or get dropped myself. The ups and downs don't help, as it's hard being a Moose and say, trying to draft someone like @Baldo Mero . I lose him on the downs, but can't stay with him on the ups .... yet we often finish near (ish) each other. I think on BKool you need to find someone with your power, weight etc and then it is easier to draft.

Getting on a track is a great way to get group riding / drafting skills. No brakes and fixed wheel a few inches from the rider in front = complete trust. I find it near on impossible on Bkool. I think I've had one ride where me and a.n.other managed to work together for 40 minutes, but it was give and take. You have to be ready to slow the pace and the chain gang race format encourages breakaways. On zwift there are just many more riders and when you find a group at or about your pace it does seem easier to stay together.
