chaps ...confused a bit. If it hadnt all gone horrible, would I have found this ride in 'live' programmed or leagues? I think its live, find it, open it and wait through the warm up led by whoever started the session - once they stop pedalling the ride goes live for all those on the session?

I found the ride under leagues tonight, not on live. I presume each thurs or sat you just get ready and do whatever warm up you want, then tune into live or leagues (whichever) find the ride and then join the official warm up.

You're right - find the ride in the Live tab. The person starting the ride - usually RickB - starts it at 7pm so look just after that. Make sure RickB (or whoever's starting the ride) is showing at the top as a participant so you know you had the correct ride, because sometimes others start a ride from the league tab and it all gets a bit confusing! So the ride starts at 7pm with a 10 minute warm up - be sure to stop pedalling in plenty of time before the warm up countdown ends as the turbo wheel needs to be completely stopped or you'll be stuck on the line!

On this occasion, you would have entered the ride in LIVE, as we were all going to complete it together. This means that the first person to start the ride, I.e. Rickb, had already entered it via the LEAGUE tab, and we all joined in on his session.

If you just wanted to complete it on your own, you would enter via the League tab in order for it to count as a league run.

Does this make any sense?

Hi guys, just got a Bkool Pro and wondered how I get involved with the fun on here?

Request to join one or morenof the cyclechat groups on bkool - eg the Cyclechaingang grouphttp://www.bkool.com/group/show/72022 - and then as you're posting here RickB or Bill will confirm you're in! Best to tell them here if your Bkool username is different to your Cyclechat one though or they won't know who you are.

There's some great and useful info on how it all works here -http://www.cyclechat.net/threads/bkool-faq.191965/

Please take away the bike he was using tonight. Maybe give him a nice beach cruiser.

Or perhaps make him use his turbo like a treadmill with no bike!

I see there is a new update to the simulator. Among other things:

Users without a Bkool Trainer can now enjoy:
- Inertia when starting a climb or descent

What does this actually mean?

Assuming this means non Bkool trainer users get the same gravity assist downhill then ...

Hoo bleeding ray! :wahhey::wahhey::wahhey::wahhey:

Can anyone with a KICKR confirm this? I may have to hook mine up again and see if it will roll down Alpe d'Huez!

I see there is a new update to the simulator. Among other things:

Users without a Bkool Trainer can now enjoy:
- Inertia when starting a climb or descent

What does this actually mean?

Bkool trainers adjust the speed as the incline changes to simulate inertia, such as when going from a steep decline to an incline the speed falls away gradually rather than immediately adjusting to the new gradient. This simulates real world inertia, which will carry you some short way up an incline faster than you would otherwise pedal.

It seems that other trainer users are finally going to have a level playing field in this regard, possibly because of the fuss made here! :bravo::wahhey:

For those of you who haven't updated the simulator yet (or didn't read the intro) here is what it says about the new version.

This new version has the following improvements:

- We've included more types of roads in the 3D routes to make sessions as real as possible! There's now 5 new types of roads, 3 tarmac and 2 dirt tracks.
- So everyone can enjoy the show, spectator mode is now available to FREE users
- You'll now see the minimum number of players required before the velodrome game will start
- We have improved the design of the Pacer Bot and the intervals
- After the race there will be a podium for the winners
- Several bugs have been corrected from the previous version

In addition, we have also decided that users without a Bkool Trainer can also enjoy:

- The inertia when starting a climb or descent, and the speed that it generates
- The Gear Section, you can now choose your own designs and quality of your equipment
- Experience the adrenaline from the velodrome games!

I like the free spectator mode (as I'm not currently riding but I can hopefully watch you guys having fun).
Edit: Just tried this out, and of course it is limited to the 2D and map modes so not quite as nice as it seems. I would think allowing spectators to watch in 3D would make sense even if you are not a premium member, as it would show you how nice it is and encourage you to upgrade to premium to be able to do your own rides in 3D? I can't see that they would lose any premium subscribers and may gain more as a result.

I also love the comment "we have decided that users without a Bkool Trainer can also enjoy", especially the "we have decided" bit. Pretty much confirms the comments here that there was no real reason to exclude the non Bkool trainers from inertia and gravity assist.

Still not 100% clear from the comment "The inertia when starting a climb or descent, and the speed that it generates" that this means non Bkool trainers will simulate free-wheeling down a slope (it may just mean the initial inertia), so I guess I'll have to try it out to confirm.

I notice the new simulator has a help screen for the key shortcuts available:
