what am I doing wrong then chaps. I was on the sim in plenty of time, warmed up and ready for the official warm up at 1900. I could see the liam ride in leagues but not in the live rides. clocks ticking and I am scrolling through the live rides for the next few minutes but no sight of the liam ride. In the end I rode it by myself from the leagues tab after seeing a couple of cycle chatters flitting onto 'my' page and going off again. It cant be that hard to sort? I was expecting the ride to appear in live when whoever started the warm up kicked it off around 1900 then get ready 10minntes later when the ride originator stops pedaling and the ride counts down to start proper. Thats twice I have been ready to go and then couldnt find the ride on live. Do I have to scedule the ride on the website before I can see it in the sim?

It was there in the Live tab but you had to search for it using the word "handicap" in the filter section at the bottom of the screen - as per Geoff's video example here Chain Gang Handicap Race

Bill, I had a secret plan to draft you in hope we could take turns and keep the steamroller at bay for a long as possible. Screwed up start meant I was a nearly 3 mins behind my start time.Shame, it's no fun riding largely on your own in a great race like that. Saturday should be even better. Fab to see friendly competition leading to so many improved times. In meantime looking forward to seeing a video of you lot battling it out.

Lets see if we can do it on Saturday Bob, if I can catch you that is. I was also hoping to draft with you and Irish Al but you were not there and Al's and my riding styles were just way to far out to be able to attempt it. The old classic/pro thing. So quite lonely ride for me, and bloody hard work. The AAAC steamroller flew past in no time, but it took me ages to catch and pass anyone. Really good fun and great workout trying though.

Basically the Live tab only shows 20 rides, you have to filter it down in the advanced filter as in the link below

Read through this... Chain Gang Handicap Race

Here's a little video of the process

I got your time off the league table, but you missed all the fun.

GREAT work Geoff. It looks quite good to watch too. I gave that everything, and Saturday will be even tougher.

Although, I just got 'that look' from the missus when I said we were rerunning it Saturday, because we have my parents round for Xmas dinner! They were in NZ and missed it this year. I told her she'd be fine entertaining them for 45 minutes, but 'the look' would suggest she needs more convincing.

Leave it with me!

Congratulations to Goldwolfie, you spurred me on to the end, great win from you

Thanks Gail and well done.

You took some catching, and I think we both have really improved since the first attempt at this stage last month. It's nice looking at a leader board turned upside down for a change.

However, I think there may be a downside, and we are likely to suffer at the hands of the handicapper for the next attempt.:banghead:

Apart from getting fitter I can put some of my improvement down to the purchase of a track pump last weekend. I've never had one and only ever used a feeble hand pump. Since I've put a decent amount of air in the back wheel I have seen a dramatic improvement on my times on other routes I have done since Saturday. I never thought it could make such a difference, but it obviously has.

Tonight was still very painful and I had nothing left at the end. Kipster helped 'pull' me up one of climbs - first time I've ever drafted as I've never been able to catch anyone before.

Ok...didnt know there was a procedure to follow. Whats the password? I haven't been on here for a few days and just expected it to be there in live, visible.
Geoff - yep. Frustration city here. I was really looking forward to getting in the mix & getting my ass kicked. Ill try for saturday at 1700...Ill be doing a 3 hour road ride in the am so it will be an interesting ride.
So if I follow the procedure and get on the sim say 20 minutes before, will the ride be visible or does it only become visible when the warm up is commenced?

I got a look while on the turbo, but I think that was because I was virtual cycling with another mans wife

Dear AAAC
Mayi ask what bike you have on your bkool ? It hasn't got Suzuki written on the tank has it ? I saw you coming and thought ' i will draft this whirlwind for a bit ' i nearly fell off my bike from the backdraft as you hurtled by ! i couldn't help giggling at myself for even thinking of catching your backwheel - very impressive sir
Ha I did something similar as he came by I tried to stay with him for a bit of a tow and actually had a tank slapper. Whole experience lasted about 5 seconds.

Today's Improvers, any special pleading before Handicaps are increased accordingly?

I think Randy and TheBoxers had already taken big hits, so nothing much to worry about.
