Morning all

Probably won't make the ride later. After 2 weeks of hard graft (:heat:), I've finished decorating and today we're getting new carpet fitted. Then off to the local to watch the rugby and reassure friends I haven't died... Not a massive rugby supporter but I like it well enough. And ive always been an avid supporter of my local brewery's!

Did you get that cup of tea Adam?

I won't make it either, bottom bracket poorly (ok one side is completely dead), and the rugby is on.

After their poor display against France I'm hoping for a better display against England.

LIVING THE DREAM
Ok, I think I get it.....
Lots of farting and scratching (much the same at home)
Lots of excuses before rides followed by max effort and chasing down friends / foes (much the same at home)
Lots of bike lingo which means nothing to me (much the same at home)

Just for the record I am neither young, beautiful or indeed a trophy but if being in a gang (other than the pirates) helps me find my mojo then i hope its ok to pop in occasionally.

Ps does anyone else have a spray of rubber up the wall behind their turbo because I am SICK of seeing tyres shredded by the hilly climbs..... How to stop??
Pedal backwards, that always stops it!

Welcome Camlo, from your posts I see you will be as good craic as your husband. Between him and soarer it makes for good banter on here, I don't get all the bike details and couldn't care less about ......okay , can't even bring myself to think about tech terms!! I just "enjoy" getting on the bike and seeing the calories burning lol. Also its nice to come first in a handicap race now and again when I'm last in every other one, but hey, someone has to be bottom ^_^

I made the mistake of putting a bike away when the current Mrs Jessop came home and managed a peek into the garage....oops "How many bikes have you got in there?" I gave up explaining what they were all for about three ago!
On a lighter note went for the first hard ride of the year with Master Jessop who can tramp on at a good pace, a good bit of through and off, not too windy, dry grippy roads no power meter but by feel was a similar effort to the last couple of Bkool rides with similar amount of drafting. 20.5 mph. Pleased with that for the beginning of the year. However shows how kind Bkool is with speed figures, I wonder if it is the same with the power. Anyone running a power meter and can say how the figures compare?
Also legs are done in for the day so no re-run for me.

I can't help with regards the power meter but I agree that it's generous with speed - my perception of bkool speed is that it's reasonably accurate compared to perfect road surface and weather conditions. I can hold very similar speed along a section of flat road local to me in perfect weather, as my speed on the flat on the latest chaingang ride. Where it falls down is all the real world things that shave off your speed like wind, road surface, bends, corners etc etc which don't slow you on bkool. And of course, slowing down (for bends & corners) and then having to accelerate again is actually detrimental to your average speed in the real world, not beneficial as it is on bkool ;)

(Sorry - don't actually want to open up that can of worms! :stop:)
