Yes, that did seem to be the case. Very hard to judge where you really are in relation to a ghost.

someone did join my ride, and started the same time as me. Chap called Roger .... half way, and 10 minutes behind me and he bailed LOL :becool: I may be the slowest in this group, but I'm maybe not as slow as I think :bicycle:
Happens to my regularly, only once or twice has a joiner finished a climb I've started. I usually feel better about myself briefly, then continue with the grind up.

No I didn't bother with ghosts. I knew I wasn't to go full beans so thought I'd just treat it as a steady workout. Bit knackered after a busy weekend and a long drive home - wouldn't have done it at all but just wanted to complete all the stages! Also wary of over-doing it because of the rides later this week. They won't be fast ones as the friend I'm going with won't be going very fast but they'll be long and hilly!

Neither were we, just out for a gentle group ride, having a chat

I have had similar things happen to me. If I am doing a full 10 minute warm up, before a main segment, very few who join, in the first few minutes, stay for the full warmup if I complete it .

Also, I am tending towards the longer sessions, for me, now . Ones that will take me up to an hour, or more, to complete . Unless the joiner is very quick, like AAAC, they tend to drop out by half way .

I am now doing upto 2 hours, on bkool workouts, each time I get on the bike . Most are over 1 and a 1/2 hours. 3 sessions . Upto 25 minutes on a warmup session, an up to 1 hour main session, sometimes more and up to 25 minutes on a cool down session. I do not do the 10 minute warm up in the main and cool down sessions. It can get very lonely, unless you add ghosts or bots .

The chaingang and handicap sessions are the most entertaining ones I do. The most challenging, exhausting, encouraging and somtimes depressing. The after action debrief, can be,.

Some one joined me on the American Fork Canyon Mountain Moose ride last night and bailed after about a mile.

It wasn't long before I thought that he had more sense than me with that decision.

@JLaw you've certainly chosen some toughies for this round of rides for us slower members - still it feels more of an achievement when you complete, despite the fact my dinner was a bit well done when I eventually crawled out of the garage.

Looks like i'm going to be away for this Thursday chain gang session, bloody typical on a perfect drafting session. Fingers crossed I should be back for Saturday's re-run session (anyone else around for Saturday) I would like the company, lol

Re-rode stage 3 today. Used @Gaileb as a target ...at least that was the plan (don't worry Gail, you won't be getting an e-mail off Bkool about being beaten :surrender:).

At the start Gail was off, and 30 seconds into my ride and Gail's ghost is supposedly 30 seconds ahead!!! Chasing like i'd stolen the bike it was another 5 minutes until I saw Gail 's ghost again. I tried to draft but I think this is almost impossible when the riders are so unbalanced in weight ... on the start of every little incline she bombed ahead, again sometimes by 20 seconds, then on the flats I could catch up. At one point I went 2 mins 20 ahead in a period of about a minute (did she stop for a cake??) then within the next minute she has bombed past me and is a minute ahead. Very bizare :cursing:

Not sure how BKool works out your relative time/distance to a ghost.

Anyway, I was well chuffed with my ride and I knocked 2 mins off my PB. Gail's ghost pipped me by 10 seconds
Its quite likely that I did stop off for cake, and second helpings! Don't worry Whorty, I'm used to getting those notifications so another one won't matter lol. Its good that my ghost is getting some exercise even if I'm not, been working 3 out of the last 4 days, 12 hour shifts so haven't felt much like being kool:sad:
PS I'm surprised there's not an emoticon on here showing someone lying on the ground exhausted as I'm sure many of us would use it A LOT
ie me!

The next Handicap Chase is Pico Peñas de Dios at 8pm (plus Start Time) tonight, 29th March 2016.

Start Times are here... Chain Gang Handicap Race

If anyone else wants to take part, please can you let us know a competitive time for the stage, or failing that your fitness level and anyone whom you usually finish close to. Then we can agree a Start Time.

Full Instructions are here... Chain Gang Handicap Race

Please try not to sit on the Start Line (unless your Start Time is 0:00), rather enter the session pedalling when the time underway reaches your Start Time.

Time Underway can be seen so long as you do not enter the session via the Details button, rather click on the padlock image in the center of the session window!

I've recorded a little video to show the starting procedure for the Handicap race

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qdqhtro4j7tmjv2/Bkool Indoor Join Handicap Chase.mp4?dl=0

P.S. Please ignore the Warning dialog after entering the password, as it was recorded on a computer without the ANT+ dongle, and you shouldn't see it.

The Video shows selecting the live tab, applying handicap in the advanced filter to find the session, seeing the time underway counter and entering the password, then Clicking No to start the session when the underway counter gets to your handicap (in this case 15.0 minutes).

I was going to take part tonight but have decided that my holiday starts today, well that plus I spent most of the afternoon shopping and my shoulder really aches now. In fact it aches more than when I'm on the turbo so I have added shopping to the banned list of activities.

I will pop by to watch.

I don't see myself in the current starting times. I did the ride in 42:46 a few days back, finishing between Insomina and Goldwolfie. So my plan is to start at 9:30 unless I hear otherwise. I'll check for an official start time when warm-up has begun.

I'm afraid I'm out of this one. Kids have been palmed off on Mother, so Camlo and I have some precious time together, a rare commodity at this time in our lives. So yesterday we decided to spend it buying a sofa, which luckily, should arrive a few days before you Bill, which means a couple less booster jabs. This evening we are going to romantically spend our time together at Interval Swim Coaching!! I don't normally get to go, because I have the kids, and do the Handicap.
This week however, I thought I might take the opportunity to model my budgie smugglers, and show off my new emaciated torso, that you guys have given me by driving me so hard on the turbo!
