Alright guys (and girls) - What do you fancy for the next chaingang??

I'm already starting to get it tight fitting all in and for the next two Thursday evenings I'll hopefully be competing in my first TT events - happy to set up another league but just might have to call on others to start sessions more often! I see some are packing up the Bkool for the Spring/Summer, so numbers will be dropping from here onwards I should think. :sun: :rain:

Rick, I think I still have to do the up and under or whatever it's called. Had mechanical issues. Too late?
Aside from that more of the same please. You seemed to get the balance just right:okay: great variety.

My itb/knee issues mean I will be on the turbo for the foreseeable future. I even bought an annual Bkool pass So I will definitely be around. Just need to sort out cooling in my loft:rolleyes:
And thanks for everything Rick. Unlike the others I cannot offer you a tart or a priest or a red dress but...

That reminds me Bob, I think you asked about aircon but I think I read that on my phone in the pub so didn't get round to responding and then forgot.
The one I got was just a portable which I bought off ebay as nearly new for about half price (£150 ish)
They are bigger and heavier than they look so not as easy to get up the loft ladder as I thought, but made it eventually. You will need to hose it into the outside via a window or a hole in the bricks though. My loft has a hole so was able to adapt it to fit. I was tending to run it for up to an hour before going on the turbo to get the loft cool enough.
Mine is something along the lines of these:

Just completed the final Chain Gang. Got towed by Monte's ghost (cheers Monte) for the first 20 miles then lost connection. Final 10 miles was painful, and couldn't see where was in relation to anyone else. In the end dropped 2 minutes on Monte think it wasn't just the towing that did it but also the mental pacing of being with someone else.

Well, well, you lot are a chatty bunch aren't you? Just taken me 30 minutes of ignoring my wife's pleas for help, and two screaming kids leathering each other for possession of the Sky remote, to catch up.
Caravaning was ALL GOOD, in fact I have just spent an hour detail cleaning it, and repairing a few bits and bobs, I'm that into it.
Loved no TV, loved playing games with the kids, even fitted in the bed, which surprised me.
Did get the car stuck in the mud, but since the campsite was basically a paddy field, it didn't come as much surprise. The Toyota Avensis estate isn't renowned for its off road handling or floating ability.
Now, deciding whether or not to put a last ditch attempt in at the Drafting Dream course.....or just have a beer and eat food.

I'm on the turbo for at least another month so make it a good one Rick.

Well this wasn't the way we were expecting this to go, polishing it rather than setting fire to it is a rather unexpected outcome.

Does admittedly sound rather idyllic but as my hoodlums have now morphed into teenagers you still haven't sold me on the thought of spending a weekend in a field with them. Maybe I need to drop them off in the field in the caravan and then go and stop somewhere with a lift.

Anyway this is now academic as I have just purchased apparently one of the few cars that it is impossible to attach a tow bar to.

Rick, I'm a 365 BKooler so I will ride whatever is going.
Thanks for everything you have set up thus far.
Think I will be too to be honest works for me to ride evenings in the pain cave and then drag my sorry carcass out into the roads at a weekend.

By the way you have previously mentioned a pick up truck why on earth aren't you towing with that for the full weekend "we'll tarmac your drive for you sir" effect?

By the way bad form as it is to reply to my own post I was very excited as I pedalled along to realise that I was cycling part of a route that I did in real life last year when I pedalled over to Arnhem.

I watched a bit of the course in video mode on Saturday. At one point AAAC was belting along a cycle path at 35mph which was quite funny.

Did you also do the course in video mode Soarer? I can't imagine it looked very similar to the original if you relied on bkool's vivid graphical interpretation...

Yep was in video mode I keep forgetting to turn it out for chain gang rides and quite like the videos. Oddly I recognised a bit of road works. I also stopped part way along the route for a pancake which was a definite win for real world.

Likewise for me - I won't be packing the turbo away as Mrs GW uses it, and doesn't feel confident out in the big wild outdoors.

Plus we can't stop the 'autobus crew' just after it's taken off.:bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:

Also I really appreciate all the effort Rick has to put in to make it such fun for the rest of us.
