@Add and @RickB , will either of you be partaking in the Handicap Chase tonight? I'm looking for some potential drafting company and you're the most likely candidates based on the start times!

The next Handicap Chase is Pico Peñas de Dios at 8pm (plus Start Time) Tonight, 12th April 2016.

Start Times are here... Chain Gang Handicap Race

If anyone else wants to take part, please can you let us know a competitive time for the stage, or failing that your fitness level and anyone whom you usually finish close to. Then we can agree a Start Time.

Full Instructions are here... Chain Gang Handicap Race

Please try not to sit on the Start Line (unless your Start Time is 0:00), rather enter the session pedalling when the time underway reaches your Start Time.

Time Underway can be seen so long as you do not enter the session via the Details button, rather click on the padlock image in the center of the session window!

I've recorded a little video to show the starting procedure for the Handicap race

https://www.dropbox.com/s/qdqhtro4j7tmjv2/Bkool Indoor Join Handicap Chase.mp4?dl=0

P.S. Please ignore the Warning dialog after entering the password, as it was recorded on a computer without the ANT+ dongle, and you shouldn't see it.

The Video shows selecting the live tab, applying handicap in the advanced filter to find the session, seeing the time underway counter and entering the password, then Clicking No to start the session when the underway counter gets to your handicap (in this case 15.0 minutes).

Geoff, the start times for riders 9-12 are a bit goofy. At the least they're out of order with respect to rider #8. 9-12 all have listed start times of 7:xx -- I think you meant for them to be 8:xx. That would fix the ordering WRT rider #8 and would make sense in at least my case. While I'd love to have a 7:30 start time, 8:30 is probably more accurate.

Well looking at who it affects and that they normally come sailing past me at some point I am sure Geoff meant 10:xx

Cheers Andy. I'm sure AAAC or LB will be along soon to put me in my place.

Having a go tonight Bill as the Handicap Run is past my bedtime.
I have done my recce of the stage and other than the second bit of the first rise I can't see that there are any climbs that will slow you down if you power into them so I guess the approach is.
1. Warm up well
2. Hit full gas from the get go for that BKool Pro superspeed
3. Pedal like the wind downhill
4. Hit every climb with gusto
5. Don't relent on the final descent.

None the less I liked your time and rather impresive speeds at times.

Just to be clear, it's the Thursday evening race that has the Saturday re-run. Tonight is the handicap race where start times are staggered and this is only on a Tuesday.

I look forward to see what you can achieve AAAC. With the above approach you could smash my time by up to a minute. Your strategy should work a treat and I may need to follow it myself, especially the decent warm-up when I go for my second attempt later in the week.

Oops, well spotted. Just a sorting error, I've fixed it now.

Cheers,

Geoff

Respect. Even with your ghost you got me by 5 secs.
You were away faster than me as usual and then I pegged you back on the climb just have you catch me on the decents and then have about 20 secs on me on the final climb.
Again I pegged you back on the climb to crest just ahead of you and then have you go by me on the descent again and take 5 seconds on me.
I just can't get going on those descents but perhaps its because I left it all on the climb.
At one point I couldn't even acclerate into a climb and I think that is where you left me again.
I suppose it's all about putting the efforts in where you make most gains and the descent climb transitionis one of those thanks to the SW.
I'll let a few others have a dig before | have a go again.
Next time I'll try a shorter but pacier warm up like you were going into a Criterium and your HR needs to be there from the off so you can hit peak watts when the flag drops.

Edit: It's a ton harder when you a going for it. My recce gave me a false impression.
