I was expecting a quick climb, but was pleased at the time I had at the foot of the hill, just in case you finished strong

I have just completed the final stage of the spring league. I set Adam, Tommy, Berty and some other chap as ghosts. Bloody hell, Adam and Tommy went off so fast, I thought I had got left behind. I tagged onto Adam for a mile or so but his staccato acceleration ruined my rhythm, so that was a no go. I thought Tommy would drift upto me, I was comfortable with my pace and slowly edge out 50 seconds before the climb, knowing Tommy generally climbs better than I do. My main concern was having a big enough lead over Berty, being my nearest challenge in the league. I know he can climb quickly. So 3 minutes was my target at the foot of the hill, thankfully I didn't need to worry about Berty. I held a 10 secs lead over Tommy until the last 0.3 mile, then as usual Tommy flew by and took a 30 secs lead(he is good at last minute bursts). I dug in and kept a high power until the line and let Tommy win by 2 seconds:okay:

Actually I was more pleased just to keep with his time, well done Tommy. Adam steadier pacing please in future:tongue:

Nice write up andy

I wasn't sure until the very end whether or not I was getting one of 'those' emails. Sounds like in the end you decided to do the decent thing

No worries - I'm sure a very similar result would have happened if you'd been there in the live race!

Shame you ran out of time to do stage 5 - was looking really close between you and Bill in particular I think?

(P.S Why on earth does it take Bkool SO LONG to update the overall league results after the stage results are up? Surely it should just happen simultaneously??)
Well, I plan to have a go at that stage, even though it won't count against the league. But right now I'm concentrating on chasing young girls (the danish champ) in this Thursday's Summer Cup time trial. That will also make my participation in the handicap race a bit dubious.

Ok I've made the adjustment. I'm not to sure about how I'm gonna look this light. I will do a pot molle warm up like normal then join the insanity shortly after. It is an all hands on deck start this time I take it.

Not looking that way at the moment...

He's getting about a 5% lower weight than you! 334.71 v's 355.07 watts

Geoff

I must have copied someone else's fitness level before. The below is mine:

Your fitness level in Cycling is Professional 1
  • Your last FTP value update was on 29/03/2016 19:24. You developed an average power of 40.19 W @ 120kg
To get to the next level, you need to do the following:
  • Take a FTP test developing an average power over 41.87 W
  • Complete an Indoor Cycling session of over 30 minutes developing an average power over 41.87 W

One other thing that crossed my mind:
Would it be a good idea to have a neutral zone at the start of a race where the leader cannot exceed 20 kph followed by a shorter zone at 30 kph.
The aim of this is to promote larger groups forming rather than people getting immediately distanced by the from the standstill software anomalies.

Pah, it will only take you a few minutes at that weight!

Be careful cycling near young girls, it's a well known fact that after a certain age men become invisible to young women, so they might cycle into you... :cycle:

I really like the idea of this or something similar.
