@Goldwolfie iirc you were thinking about doing lejog. I'm not sure how good these will be but there are some lejog leagues going

Maybe you'd like some practice as you now have some spare time:giggle:.

Just for an update I have got back onto the trainer again. The last few months have been on and off with an old niggling injury and I have started to slowly build my fitness back up with more cycling on the road than in the garage.
I have changed my name on Bkool to Paul T if anyone is wondering who the slow person is ^_^

Not a bad night tonight .

I did the first of the sprint stages on the Chaingang. Harder than it looks, lulls you into a false sense of "I'm doing well" then:boxing::ninja::B).

I caught up with the summer cup champs elysee stage. :B):B). Legs gave out just before climb number 4. Had to scrape the bottom of the barrel for that one. Still managed under an hour :wahhey:.

Now time to restock, :mrpig:, but lighly .

Paul you are still displaying as nutty in the Chaingang league, bkool must think it is a more apropriate screen name :secret:

I did a couple of the league short rides, August league and handicap. Slightly cocked up in handicap league, I picked wrong leg. I blamed it on blurred sweaty view. Should of done cheddar instead of chapel fell. Do the league's stay open for the month? I'll will catch up next weekend

I'm looking at doing the summer cup stage 5 tomorrow. However I am a little concerned . As you all know I can descend at an extreme rate, hell I've even bested AAAC down some of the descents on bkool . The thing is this. After seeing the leaders of both road races in rio crash out with severe injuries on the last descent I am wondering if I should do what I normally do and go for it . Or do I take a slightly more sedate pace and hope that my classic trainer doesn't decide to kick me to the side of the living room :cycle:.

I know I can't climb for toffee, but this has got me wortied :surrender:

Do what I did as I was obviously braking all the way down as I only made 70 kph with my 80 kg where as other 62 kg lightweights were hitting over 90 kph at 124 rpm and 350 watts and even Jacobs 100 kg frame couldn't best that.
It's all a it odd really because with a 53/11, which would not be an unusual top gear, at 124 rpm you would only be doing 75 kph so how the heck BKool gives you over 90 kph and over 350 watts I don't know.
With a 56/11, very unusual gearing, you would only be doing 80 kph.
I know BKool's cannot spin up your back wheel to simulate downhills so I assume it is calculating how many watts you are producing to spin your back wheel with little or no added resistance and then turning that into speed but it's obviously changed with the new F/W as we all pretty much agreed putting in effort down steep hills was once almost futile but apparently not now but you would need an f'ing big gear to push watts at 124 rpm and 90 kph.

If I ever did make it to the double devil ride I picture the meeting like an old Monty Python skit where I would be asked " Is your name not Paul then?"

 This is what I was worried about . I will never be up there with the gods but a little similarity between setups results is all we ask for :cursing:.
These leagues are great fun to take part in, but when you see some of the results you do have to wonder how .

I'll do my best at getting to 60mph whilst pedalling at <60 and pushing less than 50, thats fifty, watts

For you (ANT) FEC'ers that can Zwift tell me please:
How many Zwift routes are there?
And how quickly do the gradients change on these routes?

AAAC, Bobinski is your man, he uses it quite a bit. I have it on the PC but havent yet got round to trying it. I will have a go in September. I understand there are a few routes but not the amount that Bkool has. Gradients, erm see Bob

I must say, good going in the Summer cup, 2nd position at the half way stage.:okay: Bill as well on the first page!

Maybe its time Bkool offered a new turbo with a proper power meter fitted. A trade up discount scheme for current owners too?

AAAC, there isn't much in the way of choice. There are 3 locations, Richmond, the fictional island of Watopia as well as London/Surrey. But Richmond aside they are not real. Within them they have different routes and Watopia now has a series of mountain climbs. In reality nothing like Bkool in terms of variety.
Regarding transitions MY experience is pretty positive. Much more so than Bkool. Certain turbos had issues with accurate but these now seem to be resolved either by Zwift and or the turbo manufacturers. There is very little complaint now from those using smart trainers though that is not to say it's all rosy. Monte has issues with accurate power. I find it pretty much ok but I don't have a power meter readout to compare with. Aside from that I like the routes, the fact they are busy adds to the feel of riding with others and I also like the gamey way you can give and receive kudos during a ride. And it sure looks pretty...

What I really like is the structured training and I will be looking to use that over the Autumn.
