Well done Berty. You gave us a right good walloping tonight .

I'd like to have gone slower but had JLaw breathing down my neck a good bit of the way. I was too hot and tired tonight. Almost got me at the end there J.

Well begger me. What a day to find that loophole that Bridgy experienced.

Summer Cup Stage 8:
I came off of the first climb and kept my cadence high and the watts and speed just kept coming so now I am the man flying along the flat bits well in excess of 50 kph.

I shouldn't have saved the session after all my moaning about others but what the ANT fec it's not a Cyclechat League so all is fair in love and war.
It would be interesting to see if I could do it again but I'll have to try that on a private ride.

So apologies to Jacob if you are reading this because you were my challenge but I never got the chance to take your draft because I was always in front.
To be honest I took 30 seconds from you from the start to the top of the first climb and it stayed pretty much like that until the climbing started just before the 3/4 point.
And apologies to Bill for not only finding this wormhole thing but also for the pro slinging.
I should move back up the GC now:

No apology necessary AAAC. You're flying the Cyclechat Flag so the faster the better. And there's plenty guys out there going quicker than they shuld so you getting a break is no bad thing. I'd certainly take in in that league if I could get it, only it always goes the other way for me.
Anyway, well done. Must have been a bu99er in the heat.

So we had the same jauncar problem tonight so I had to start a non league session as I don't know how Geoff fixed it last time.
Our times unfortunately will not count towards the league.

I did stage 5 of the summer cup. I opened all the Windows fully on the conservatory in a vain effort to keep cool. I had just started when the Mrs came in with a `miracle grow` feeder spray for the plants. I think she was hoping for other things to improve.
I was struggling with heat, then my new wife of 25 years came to the rescue in the nick of time. She arrived with a water spray and duly doused me with water. What a relief from the heat:heat: just as I started the first big climb. She then came back and did it again for the 2nd big hill. I also used the ergo mode for the climbs, my chainset takes me out of my comfort zone for cadence. It was a Good run and felt pretty good at the end with the help from my helpers

Berty just blew us away... Thought I might catch you with about a quarter mile left, but had to back off at the top of that hill. Seemed like you let off the gas right at the end and I nearly was able to catch you again.

I was mostly trying to ride to wattage, and I was ultimately happy with the overall effort.

Was it the same guy?

I started the league session with a different password, so it had to start a new session.

Obviously whoever is starting the session gets the password from here, so in future we will have to agree a random password via private mail.

As it is not in the league results, I can't get the normalised watts, so I'd be greateful if everyone could post the normalised watts from their sessions so I can update the handicaps.

Cheers,

Geoff

I have grabbed figures for 1st) @berty bassett, 2nd) @BILL S, 3rd) @JLaw and 4th) @rob01792. Did anyone else compete?

Looks like places 2, 3 and 4 were quite close but Berty did a runner.

Looking at the normalised watts/kg, Berty was 6.18, Bill 4.54, Jlaw 4.81 and Rob 5.02.

New Handicaps for Rundlestone

Bill down 1 Kg to 65.5 Kg
Jlaw down 4 Kg to 53.5 Kg
Berty up 4.5 Kg to 42.5 Kg
Rob down 5.5 Kg to 37 Kg

Cheers,

Geoff
