What a difference a day makes and:
1. -17 kg
2. Starting on time
3. Getting a good Pro Start and flying off like the wind for the first km
4. Hitting that sweet spot on the flats again that seems to give you more speed than is humanly possible.
5. Still getting Pro-Slings
6. Descending reasonably quickly with very little effort and hence recovering for the next climb.
7. Going into the second half of the stage, the climbing bit, with a good advantage and hence not having to push too hard on any of the false flats and intermediate descents.
That could put me within 4 minutes of AID. I'm tempted to go back to the Champs stage and see if I can hit that high speed sweet spot and take back more time because I don't think Stage 10 is going to give me 4 minutes, in fact I might loose some time if there isn't much climbing.

What is more amazing is my cool down ride in the Velodrome.
I was messing about with my saddle height hence the saw toothy look as that was me getting of the bike and messing with the saddle.
Anyway at 7.8 km I turned off my turbo and got off my bike and went for a shower and a cup of tea just to find when I went back into the back room my avatar was only two minutes from the end of the stage having done 16 km without me turning a pedal.

And finally

What an amazing fight back by Froome today. Not good enough to catch Quintana and the ascent finished early enough for Valverde to get back on Froome's wheel.
That climb produces a dramatic fight nearly every time they use it in the Vuelta.

 15 minutes quicker than me !

Bill just open up our graphs in two windows and line them up as our cadence speed and power scales are exactly the same.
Flick between them and look at the peaks first and you will see some real similarities.
Then look at the troughs.
I don't get troughs as deep or as long as yours because of the difference in FW and this is mainly where my time has come from.
Once I get back from Hols and buy my new Pro ready for the winter leagues I will be back on par with you but meanwhile I am flaunting my 'super powers' in a 'foreign' league and do not consider myself in contention with you but more as part of a team.
Right now I just think I am making up for the disparity I have seen on earlier stages with AID.
Looking at his home page this man rides his bike a lot so I have no doubt he is good but for me its just a bit of karma getting some of the 5 minute differences back in the more hilly sessions.
I do look forward to being back in the same game as yourself and all of the other Cycle Chat competitors as the Cycle Chat leagues have lots their spark for me since our FW drifted apart so wildly in its operation which is why I now want a new trainer plus I can then give Zwift a look see as well.

Does anyone want a tow ball mounted bike rack.
I'm not sure but I think the prize for winning Thursdays live Summer Cup stage is just that.
Am I right?
If I win I don't need a bike rack as mine stays on the turbo 24/7 365 so I would be happy to give it away.

Damn. 56 minutes for you means 90 minutes for me  Better make sure I'm fresh for that one!

Had a go at Stage 9 this morning and it was very tough - 1hr 11mins and I won't be revisiting that one.

A word of warning for us lesser mortals, save something for the last mile. Feel free to use my ghost, but you shouldn't have much trouble leaving me on the climbs.

Afternoon all,
I have been an owner and user of Bkool for just over a year and lurked in the background on this forum, picking up really useful advice and insights. I have spent my time mainly riding on my own or occasionally against a friend but this summer I entered the Bkool summer cup to give it a try.

I must admit that I am now hooked on the league and it has really made me schedule out the sessions and then turning myself inside out whilst doing it – much to the amusement of my wife and also disgust at the same time at the sight of the puddles of sweat on my mat under the bike! I have really enjoyed it.

Currently at the time of writing I am 82nd after completing 7 sessions. I will be doing stage 8 tomorrow evening around 8.30pm after the children are asleep and settled. I would love to keep a top 100 place.

I really would like to join the forum more actively and your leagues to keep up the momentum and enjoyment on Bkool. I really hope the Mountain Goat league will start up again as I love the big long climbs and really testing myself.

Hopefully the leagues will allow stages to be done at any time in the week as even though I would love to join in with everyone to ride at the same time I am rarely on until 8pm at the earliest with putting our two small children to bed.

The obvious repurposing of that bike rack is on the back of the Mini with a parachute from work. Then you wouldn't have to rebuild that rear brake caliper.

The mountain goat stages are usually done solo against the others times or in my case just trying to finish. But I think it was unwise of you to say big long climbs. Bill S may think you meant both when I'm sure you meant long OR big climb.
