What time you thinking of riding @BILL S? I may try and join you - not to race - I too am happy with a steady "fat burning" ride if that's what you mean? Might just be nice to have company!

Sorry Paul. I was well underway when you posted. Ended up doing The Boxers Neighbourhood Cruize ride to test for dead stops. Turned out to be quite tough but I did use it for fat burning only at 265 watts. Took an hour so quite a long one for a Chaingang ride.

No worries Bill, I've found some friends!

LIVING THE DREAM
Just done stage 10 of the Summer Cup, it''s a real fast session.
I've been covertly going back and re-running some previous Cup stages by challenging myself and using my own draft to take me into the middle of the stage and then going for it. I managed to pick back some time on A.I.D so that I stood a chance at besting him on the GC.
So today in order to remain covert I didn't challenge anyone and just went it alone.
I knew what I had to beat regarding average speed and I was ahead of schedule from the off and was well pleased with how it went.
What surprised me the most was being just 1.4 seconds short of Jacobs time and over a minute ahead of my target.
I don't for one moment believe the reality of my average speed but that's 'virtual' cycling for you.
I assume the GC won't update until later tonight or tomorrow so hopefully I haven't given A.I.D much time to peg me back but none the less I will be checking tomorrow.
Pep Tatche is well out of my reach so I won't be trying to kill myself to best him anytime soon.

Well done Bob you kicked my @55 there!

Geoff, I think you should take into account that Bob was "just turning the pedals" there when you revise his handicap...

I think the only difference between us bridgy was the small matter of 24 kilos^_^ I didn't mean to go for it but once I started just wanted to get it over with. HR hit 184, a long time since that has happened and a while before I take it that high again. But you had caught me and I had to get away. I think I would have been 2 mins slower at least at your weight. Ta, I think, for pushing me:okay:

Geoff, handicap is fine thank you. Don't listen to anyone he says otherwise.

I was about 2/3rds of the way along that one when the nuc crashed :cursing: :banghead:. I was just trying to trundle along at about 200-210 watts with an avg speed of just over 20mph. Kept finding myself putting out a lot more watts than expected. Would have been about 1hr20 or so for the full distance I think.

The autobus should be good for about 1hr10 if we stay together

It'll make a cracking but tough league ride. I had one dead stop about 3/4 way in where there's a little steep bit that can be seen repeated further on as there must be 2 laps of that part of the ride. On the steep bit I backed off the power for a few seconds and made it up without dead stopping. I dread to think how this ride will feel as a full on race. I was knackered just cruising it.:heat:

I was almost the same. I wanted to use it as a warm up to the handicap stage if it went ahead. But I started late and then got kicked out :cursing: :banghead: .

Could be interesting for a full course stage  :giggle: .

Evening all,
Geoff, you missed me off your list. Unfortunately I couldn't join in anyway tonight as I am away with work at a conference in Manchester. Can the stage be done within the next week, if I am given a handicap weight?

Sorry Martyn, you should start at 44 Kg for The Shelf.
