Salmon and beetroot? Bloody southern hipsters I think the only fish to eat is cod and the only vegetable to eat with it is chips.

Soarerv8, ta for the tip. Chips it is with the pie next time:okay:

Had my first bash at the chain gang new ride last night, and first league ride. Must say I am in total awe of anyone who can have an average wattage of 300+!! I picked up a bike 8 months ago to train for ironman uk just gone so I'm pretty new at this. Any tips for a rookie
Brush up on your banter and local colloquialisms (confuses our cousins across the pond, as do theirs coming back).

Other than that.
Find a good couple of sessions to act as a proper warm up (save them as favourites).15-20 minutes I've found is better than the 10 minutes at the start of each session.

Also find some longer cool down sessions instead of the 5 minutes at the end. I use some of the longer descenso sessions. I have not had the legs hurting as bad since I started using them, 50-60 cadence in a very light gear, gives time for the lactate to properly clear the legs. It helps if you are like me on these sessions :mrpig:.

I think I should add to TT's splendid advice that choice of tire is very important. I'm using Continental GP4000S II with 140 psi for flat stages.
Do you find those noisy LB? I used them once with my "outdoors" rear wheel (I use an older wheel on the turbo) and found the tyre made a really loud whining noise!

Who will be starting the ride this afternoon? I'll be joining in :training: so no one else worry about coming in last as that is my role !

That may be the best thing about having a dog named after a competetor. Both Sorerv8 and myself can beat Bobinski or Kipster anytime. And as for the brit slang we didn't know kip meant nap when my wife named him.
Does he live up or down, depending on your view, to his name. He doesn't have narcolepsy does he. That could be an entertaining day down the park. Every time you call his name he falls asleep .
