That WAS tough for some reason my heart rate didn't get above 170 just struggled, legs could hardly cope, wasn't happy with my performance tonight so shall be redoing it Saturday or Sunday :ninja:

I had the same problem, HR hardly above 150 for ages. Left thigh was rock solid soon into the ride and causing a little concern especially if I generated 330w+ so I kept easing and trying to spin. But Bkool kept showing cadence at 35ish:cursing: it was only when you overtook me that I decided to ignore the thigh and push on so thanks for that. If you had felt better and stuck with me then who knows, we might have given Berty a scare^_^.
Thing is, that is my fastest D'uez ride! And yet looking ta bridgy's time mine seems ridiculously slow:rolleyes:

How did you do that Bridgy? Massive w/kg too!! :notworthy:

I had to leave the ride before it started as I couldn't see anyone. I was hoping it would continue and I could re join but I couldn't find it in the Live tab. In the end I managed to join it using the Leagues tab for some reason and start from the beginning but a few minutes late.
And then you reeled us all in on your way to the top :notworthy: Tried to hold your wheel and get a lift up to Gregory but needed 320 watts to stay with you and just couldn't sustain that

Yea was hoping for a replay of our last encounter but wasn't to be, i could sense @RickB with about a mile to go pushing hard and was thinking he was planning a last minute push to the line so had to keep a good distance from him any longer and i would of popped.

I don't know! It's not every day you ride away from AAAC so I wasn't expecting that

You surprised me Whorty. I reeled you in but it didn't look like I'd be able to get away from you. I think you're getting much stronger:smile:

You'll need it though;)
I can get some power up, but struggle to hold it for a long time. Just need to keep on the bike and it will come ... either that or there'll be a need for a rider rescue on the DD !

Have no fear Whorty. They're well set up with rescue vehicles at the DD.
You'll be fine if you pace yourself, but just in case...
Same goes for all of us.

What can I say.
I been up that hill quicker 10 times in the past and 4 times sub 40 min.
Some of that may be a bit old FW enhanced but some of them may have been before they started beggering about too much.
My only 2 excuses for the thrashing tonite are:
1. Bridgy went faster than me (fact).
2. 4 mountains in as many days is probably too much for a 56 year old.
I was thinking of just sticking at 420 watts all the way up but my average soon went down to 408.
Halfway I was struggling sustaining 380 watts and at one point I put a big dig in to see if I could make up some of the then 2.5 minutes on Bridgy but a) I just couldn't make the watts and b) what I made was not enough to make a difference so I went back to 380/400.
I even dropped back the 15 seconds to the guy behind me to see if we could work together but it had no impact as I think he was on the rivet anyway.
At the end of the day I just got beat by the younger man.
Fek knows why I put so much effort in because I don't think I can complete all of the Chain Gang plus tip toe up Ventoux by the 29th.
Are we group riding Ventoux on Saturday at 17:00?

Out of curiosity does the latest firmware give lower or higher watts than back in spring time?
I think the main change is the speed dropping more quickly and naturally - particularly on inclines. I'm not sure the algorithm for calculating watts based on speed /weight /slope has changed as such?
