LIVING THE DREAM
Ta Andy, the circle vent piece is quite loose and i am thinking of removing. No cats, dogs or kids fingers to worry about

I have no doubt that the circular grill limits the amount of new air presented to the fan and removing it will have an impact on the air resistance of the fan and possibly overcool the unit causing a catastrophic explosion and bits if turbo and back wheel will be everywhere.

PS. Have you checked your brake blocks and the inside leg of your shorts!!!!!!!!!

Rick,
How you finding the ftp builder?
Has Rick sneaked off to do some power training as well. I am not allowed past base camp until I improve my technique. Reminds of learning to ski where I was sent back to baby slopes to redo the course. Still cant Ski, much like cycling

I removed my circular grill after my second ride on the pro due to a noise, it hasn't killed me yet. Maybe, just maybe the extra air resistance is slowing me and I would be as fast as you if I hadn't removed it ;)

Then again, maybe not.

Tommy, I might just pop in seen as its a flati-sh one:okay:, Next week gets a little more intense with 90min sweetspot rides, its bad enough 60 mins and trying to remember lift up, push forward, pedal in circles:wacko: at 150rpm:laugh:

That sounds pretty brutal

Needle aside I'm very interested to hear what you make of it after a few weeks. I have a feeling you're going to be even tougher to keep up with soon!

Andy, there was a sufferfest vid you could buy but and no doubt stream too , on technique that linked with a TR workout. I found it really helpful.

Rick,
How you finding the ftp builder?
Not really following the plan properly but just picking amd choosing workouts which roughly follow the proposed plans I'd come across elsewhere. Its all very confusing knowing what plan to follow and what good it'll actually do but I think I'm doing slightly too much high intensity work for this time of year!

The Zwift plans do seem very good though. I was trying to do it without using erg mode but it think erg forces you to do it right!

You getting some coaching Andy?

After trying my hand at racing this season I want to try and follow a plan this winter to see if I can improve my power and endurance. I can spin with the best of them but always fall short on threshold power. Doing longer rides at the weekend and 3 rides during the week plus 1 or 2 weights sessions to build leg strength. Unfortunately it means I'm not getting much racing on bkool. :headshake:

Following trainer road plan, 6 or more weeks initial base work, improving pedal technique, cadence also relaxing, breathing with sweet spot sessions. I'm coping at the moment. Learning to pedal in smooth circles is more difficult than it looks. It builds into power training later on then onto specialist training for your desired discipline.

I keep looking at TR but I'm not sure about the time commitment for the plans, do you find it takes up a lot of time?

There are 3 set intensity levels at base and other levels. I chose the lowest level which takes 3.5 hours per week. Or you can go up to 7.5hours a week . you can jump up or down levels if it's too easy or hard. I decided to back out of Bkool for a few weeks to see how I got on. I can't do both but will cherry pick Bkool rides when feeling fresh to go

Once I have done the whole course, some 18 weeks I'll do more Bkool again.

That all sounds good. I got a measurable improvement in bkool with just a few training sessions in Zwift once erg mode was working with the turbo. I think I should have stuck with them but got carried away with my improvement
Sounds like you have a plan and we better watch out for you when it's finished^_^
