Absolutely! Well done Tommy. That bad back and rest did you good:okay:

As for AAAC-well,:notworthy:

Cheers Bob I was thinking the same:smile:.

As for AAAC. I'd of loved to see your race with Bridgys ghost. I thought you'd timed it wrong but then, Bang!

Just peeled myself off of the bike.
I did get it wrong to start with.
I knew how hard Bridgy smashed the downhill and I just don't seem to be able to do that, must be my bike handling skills, so my plan was to crest the climb at +1 min.
I cooked myself trying to do that and had to rest up on the descent.
At the point where Bridgy's ghost was ticking away the seconds I had a stitch setting in and some burps were coming up which is a sign for me that heartburn is coming.
So I had to keep milling over to ride through the stitch without prompting the heart burn any further so as Bridgy passed me I couldn't even jump on his wheel and I just had to stay patient waiting for everything to settle which, finally, by the last climb it did and it was time to dig again.
I didn't have much in the tank but it was enough for 12 seconds but the whole time I was fearing his strong finish.
Had Bridgy been there he would probably have taken me but then again had we been racing together my tactics would have been different i.e. using draft etc.
The nett result was a comparatively low average watts though as a result of sitting up downhill.
I might have to do an FTP just to keep my ranking, unheard of in the old days.

Been driving and collecting kids this afternoon. I managed to watch on my phone the start and see part way. Great ride there Tommy, I think the tables have been well and truly turned regarding your form.

That was very well played AAAC, perfect tactics:okay:

Even I had a alittle company this evening which made a right refreshing change.. :hello: thank you.. :hugs:

And i wasn't in a happy place, felt sluggish all day didn't think i would make the ride but thought I'll have a steady ride, wish I never went on by half way i was struggling with grades of 3% then by 3 quarters it was grades of 1% felt wobbly at times and a real grind to turn the pedals i was determined to finish though.
I hope i feel better after a good night's sleep ready for the goat ride tomorrow.

Honestly if your beginning to get that tired perhaps you should back off. Pushing yourself that far might be a backwards step.

I wondered what happened. I thought you were way ahead of me at the top of the hill.

Well done AAAC - sounds like you paced it perfectly. you have more guts (or experience?!) than me to be able to do it like that - I tend to go full tilt from the start and try to hold on till the end! On this stage, that meant I was really struggling with that final hill so your tactics were perfect.

Cheers Andy, I meant to ask earlier, how's your training program going?

I truly thought you were cycling some kind of special strategy and expected you to catch up with me on the last climb. That's when I guessed there was something wrong.. maybe you bonked.. and a good nights rest after a huge pile of food will do the trick..

Fingers crossed.

Thank you but I think we both got it wrong in that case.
12 seconds is nothing when racing a ghost because the ghost cannot react.
I was really lucky that you did not get too far away on the descent but then again unless you weigh 90kg plus as you know that would be hard anyway.
At the end of the day your still up on me but I don't think we have been head to head yet as I keep missing Thursday night.
I have however told myself 'no re-runs', one go at each stage and if someone betters you that that's it.

I must admit that since I had a bit of a turn after my first Session post my holiday, well it was after my cool down ride and shower, I have been a bit paranoid about my HR going too high so toward the end of today's ride I had to hide my stats and just do what I could.
