couldn't move off the start line

I had that problem as well - my fault because I'd been warming up and hadn't stopped pedalling properly. I'd forgotten bkool does that. Suppose it's fair enough - wouldn't be right to allow flying starts.

So, I was already off the pace before I got moving, and then after about 10 minutes I lost my internet connection. It eventually came back but when it did I could only see a couple of other riders so had no idea how I was doing in relation to everyone else. (I spent most of the ride chasing @Whorty - or rather, watching him disappear further into the distance...)

Still, it was fun. Not the greatest performance - my excuse is that I did parkrun this morning and I think it took more out of me than I realised. But I'll definitely do it again - will try to make some of the Thursday evening sessions, they should work out well for me.

Well done smutchin and welcome to bkool, watched you also disappear off the start line after keeping me company for what felt like an eternity, it's great to see new folk joining in as some leave in frustration with bkool and it's issues.
PS I believe it's a Bkool tradition to get your excuses in pre ride not post.

Well done everyone who did that ride and bad luck soarer. Maybe it's your power plug that's knackered? Bob said he's been through a few of them.

If it wasn't for AAAC dragging me up the last hill I'd of needed a helicopter rescue, so much appreciated mate!

I tried my hardest to stay with you Bill. I was trying to soften you up a little to be honest. Accelerating over the tops of the hills, to get a gap on the downhill, knowing I have the momentum advantage shall we say, and hoping it would knacker you trying to bridge the gap. But by the end it was me hanging on and you dumped me good and proper on that last hill. Very strong bud.

Bridgy you just seem to have another gear you can find at will!

It's one of those courses. Doesn't matter what time you do it in. It's bloody knackering!

Couple of things.

1. What idiot planted the Whiskey suggestion in my mind Yesterday. HID drifted off to sleep on the sofa last night so I just carried on doing stuff and drinking my weekly treat of a bottle of red but her highness was still in the land of nod when I finished it so I dug out what was left of a bottle of Dalwhinnie from Christmas last year. Had to get up at 7 this morning as well. Add that to the aching legs from working on the car all day Friday and I was well wrecked this morning.

2. I was going to take it easy tonight and just spin my legs a bit but I saw Bob trailing so I was trying to lead him across to the front group. Strange that Bob as you felt you were helping me.

3. Guessed you had and issue though Bob when you suddenly dropped back so I gave it my all on the next bits of climbs to catch up with the others and give Bridgy a hand helping the other two.

4. I was pretty puffed when I got to them but got some respite on some of the descents.

5. It was hard work trying to judge what power others needed you to pull and it appeared that we all had slightly different reactions to slope changes. I seem to have a longer delay than others regarding resistance onset going into climbs and the opposite coming out of them. I am going to try and sync my PC Clock with BSim to see if that makes a difference.

6. I had one sudden dead stop when I was backing of having got too far ahead of TT and he then shot past me. I was trying my hardest to get you back to Bill TT before the top of the climb butt it just was not happening, well done though.

6. All in all a jolly good ride today though but my legs are still damn stiff.

My 6.

1. It was Thanksgiving this week. So not only over ate the last few days but had a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream for breakfast.
2. Hey no Bill showing up under filter. May be I can just do an easy ride today.
3 First hill. Carp why did I brag about my internet never dropping I could have used that as an excuse.
4 second hill. Man what is Whorty doing going up this so fast? Maybe I should bail and say my chain came off.
5. Looking at last hill ahead. What the heck. Maybe I can use Bobinski's keyboard falling as an excuse to bail.
6. Halfway up the last hill behind Whorty with Jim catching up. Maybe I can use the bad knee excuse and bail out now and save the pain.
6. It's downhill until the end. Go team gravity. 210 pounds is an advantage I should maintain.

Whorty if you start it can u run the clock the full 10 mins? Otherwise it might catch people out. Cheers mate
Sorry, I had a malfunction on the start line. I forgot to turn the fan on, bent down to flick the switch and must have stopped pedaling for a second and the countdown started!! I started pedaling again but it made no difference ... apart from I was still pedaling whilst everyone else shot off the line  I need more practice :banghead:

I was in a high gear, standing up and trying to sprint up the hills and just freewheeling on the descents
