Ha!

The 8am start seems to suit best. The vibration rattling through the house isn't going down very well but it's a work in progress and definitely not a deal breaker!

I have toyed with the idea of doing an outside ride but....:cold: maybe next week... I've just treated myself to some new winter bib tights so I'll have to face the frost at some point.

With all you've said about the variation in resistance I'll probably continue to pick courses with under 1000m of climbing. Maybe around the weekend we should try zwift to if everyone's about and up for it?
The forcast for the weekend is mild well here it is, so im going out into the real world:eek: so out i go on sunday to start my new milage target with a bang.

Hmm, not looking good for me in that last Chaingang stage. BePro power pedals 157 watt, Bkool watt 146.

That was alot harder than it looked, lots of bumps, just long enough to sap the legs and kill speed. I was beginning to feel shattered near the end. Thanks LBH for starting the ride. I didn't know if I was going to be home on time so couldn't promise Bill I would start, plus internet very slow tonight, several restarts to get decent connection.

Well done guys looks like we all survived. Some of those hills were most unwelcome! ^_^

For some reason bkool isn't showing my ride.... seems a little harsh
Looks like your ride didn't save - when I look at my ride, it only shows Bob and Breedon's rides, it doesn't show you at all. Seems very harsh given the effort you put in!!

Well done you boys, that's a good effort. All good base miles Whorty - you'll need them for that little jaunt this spring..

Yeah bit annoying but never mind. Still put in enough miles to justify a visit to the cake shop so all good!

How'd you find the pedals Whorty?

Once I worked put how the shoes fit in the clips, they were great. Unfortunately, I was nearly at the top of the big hill until I figured that out :cursing: I really can be as thick as a brick sometimes!

I thought I was clipped in from the off. The connection was loose and wobbly, but as I've never worn clips before I didn't know what to expect. Anyway, on the hill my feet were wobbling around on the pedal, and I'm thinking "it felt better in my old trainers". Couldn't get any real power on. Got frustrated, stood up to try and stretch out the legs and 'click', the weight of me standing must have pushed the clips in properly. After that it was great.

Did some sprinting, and standing up on the hills and sprinting to get over some little humps and the clips definitely seemed to help.

Maybe next time I'll be clipped in properly from the off :banghead:

Most spd peddles can have the amount of force required to release your foot adjusted by alan key at the back of the peddle. It's definitely worth having a play with although somewhere in the middle is probably good. Now you've got them you'll wonder how you survived without them!

@Breedon I know what mean. I drunk most of a big bottle of water and ate 2 bananas through the ride. It's definitely giving me a good work out.

Again, thanks @TurboTommy , @Breedon and @bobinski for a good morning ride. My longest ride, and most time in the saddle. Lots of help from you all on the drafting certainly pulled me along :okay: Gravity on the downs was a big help too

Well done Whorty. That was a tough old ride, long and with an unexpected amount of climbing. sorry I didn't help with any drafting in the last 20k but your avatar was pulsing perhaps from an earlier disconnect and made it really tricky and a little disturbing to tuck in behind you!
