@srs52 Why don't you start at an elapsed time of 7:30, alongside @Goldwolfie and @Insomina, who are around your fitness level, and see how you get on?

Instructions on the starting procedure are here Chain Gang Handicap Race

Geoff
sounds good to me, will start at plus 7:30, thanks for link to instructions

Mr Tatche is the one to beat. Heres one he did earlier:

Pep Tatche 18/08/2016 BKOOL SUMMER CUP
21m 48s

Was that the second stage Bob? If so that's crazy...

I just bailed halfway through... Sweating like mad, roasting like a pig, thinking I need to get off the bike before I fall off it was that bad. It's only when I get off and come down stairs I see the missus has the heating fired up full blast on some mad clothes drying rampage...

4/10 in the excuse ratings?

I know what you mean. My setup is in my study and in the evening the heating is on full whack so riding in plus 20C heat with no fan, but at least it keeps your muscles warm! I invested in a Tacx sweat catcher over xmas to help with the mess! Shame you had to stop as it looks as though the hard work was done and you were on for a sub 40 min time.

Cheers DP, I guess sometimes it takes a near death experience to find out who ya true pals are! ^_^
Although to be fair I think I said a few months ago death should only be classed as a 8/10 excuse so...

And speaking of death, some complete traitor at my better halves work has splilled the beans on Rapha's pricing policy. So my own demise Could be at any moment. Excuse me while I go hide the knives!

TT,
Best check the missus hasn't put the Rapha in the hot wash and then over dried it!

Anyone fancy winter cup stage 4 as our Thursday Chaingang ride this week? This will help us to get up to date in that league and also give me some time to get the new Chaingang league up and running.

I did this last night and I had forgotten what a hard stage it it, you can't get in a good rhythm at any stage.
I had a dead stop on each of the first three laps at the bottom of the 12% climb which was frustrating to say the least and chain came off on the third.:cursing::cursing:

I changed tactic on the last lap and went for a high cadedence & low power at around 110 rpm and it worked as I managed to keep the pace from the descent up the initial part of the climb. Hope you guys don't have the same issue as it really impacted my time
