You feeling picked on???The three of us should try and get together as I'm sure we could pace each other to a faster time.
AAAC listed 3rd in Winter cup but actually 2nd overall behind, guess who?!
Good ride Bill, you used me good a proper![]()
Ah damn, I just did that myself - would have been good to join you if I'd thought to check in here first.
I wasn't sure if I would go for it actually as I've been feeling crap with a chesty cold all day. Pretty happy with my time considering but it was one of the more unpleasant experiences of my life!
Bearing in mind what we have been saying recently it's worth noting that my time showed on the results almost immediately this time
Having a couple of ghosts to hide behind is a good plan as you can keep something back for the end. I will have another go at some point so hoping that Bridgy was close to my ghost for me to sneak a little rest. There was no way I could keep up with Pep et al, they were far too strong for me.Well done Paul. You were quick for someone not feeling their best. Pity you hadn't joined my ride, but I doubt I could have stayed with you for long. Actually, doing what I did and picking a similar rider and drafting with them as much as possible for the first 3/4 as I did is probably the best tactic for a stage like that. You really need the likes of DP and AAAC for that.
No problem Bill I was impressed how low your heart was until near the end and you went for it. My advantage and disadvantage is I'm pretty consistent with power, so if you get on my wheel I'll drag you along. Only chance is if you're feeling a little weak and my average is just too much, doesn't often happen.![]()
Not sure a time of 48 was ever in my legs tonight.I may have second go at another time and see if I can get a sub 50 minute timeRe Stage 5 - Thanks to Jim for suggesting Whorty go for 48 minutes, GW as a ghost to 'keep me honest' and thanks to Whorty i watched some of your ride so i knew what was coming

I would appear to be having a dip in performance at the moment, but that stage really took it out of me, it's the 3% plus hills that I cant seem to keep any real pace on. I'm getting really exhausted and can't push out the big watts continually like before xmas.I am surprised DP, I thought this would be one for you.
I had a close look at Pep's stats and he is still getting power & speed data flats.
Not large ones but it is unusual to get 3 or more consecutive data points where speed and power remain flat and if you get those on a climb it's a real advantage,
He had 5 short flats in stage 3, not enough to make a huge difference but could make up quite a few seconds and make it very hard to hold his wheel on those climbs.
