Looking forward to when I can't ride as fast

Bianchi have brought out 200km(120mile) range electric bike. These types of bike were all over the mountain at Ventoux
You keep telling yourself everyone else was on electric bikes Bob :okay:

I've made a Strava segment for just the downhill part. I was only 23 seconds quicker than you on the downhill despite my efforts. Probably all down to the extra kilo - I needn't have bothered trying! So I must have taken 2 minutes on the opening climbs. Jacob was over 2 minutes quicker down the hill than me (he's 18 kgs heavier) but only a minute and a half quicker overall, so I must have beaten him up the hills too - that would have been a bit depressing seeing him catch and whizz past me on the descent had we been doing it live!

So the heavier riders can just sit back and enjoy catching the lighter riders on the descent - as long as you've done enough on the opening climbs to minimise the gap when the downhill starts properly....should be interesting
I just did the stage again.
I think the ascent is long enough for good climbers to make enough gap to keep heavy guys behind on the descent. I guess that at least one of you guys beat my time

SPOILER ALERT?!? for those yet to do CG1 let me 'quantify' Jacob's remark, the ascent ends at approx 6.2km thereafter all downhill and quite fun it is, normally i ride on the hoods but i did find myself wandering down below from time to time, if you know what i mean ;)

We'll set some times on CG1 tonight for you to chase when you get back home. Hope you've been eating a lot whilst on hols as I think you'll need a bit of extra weight this month

Rode CG1 this morning before heading off on holiday for a week.

Uphill start was interesting for a downhill course, but nothing too bad and it feels you can keep the power up through that section.

23k of descending on a turbo is a unique experience. Taking a hairpin at nearly 80k/h might be a little tricky on the real descent!

The only worrying moment was at 3k from the finish when my video froze and then suddenly the picture on the monitor showed that I was back at the start, although the countdown in the bottom right hand corner was still counting down from 3k. Thankfully, the counter was right and the picture was wrong!

A sense of relief when I finished, saved the ride and saw it appear in my history!

You're right the uphill at the start probably isn't too bad, but when I did it I found it quite a shock to the system as I was expecting flat/downhill all the way!

In fact the first 10 minutes or so are:

The section between 3 and 4 miles is a surprise, as it feels like you're on to the descent proper and then it suddenly kicks up again.

Not going to make the CG ride tonight - going to get covered in mud in the dark on a mountain bike tonight instead - obviously feel free to add my ghost if you like @BILL S

Off to get the BIG lights charging up.....:hyper:

I already took the liberty of adding your ghost Paul. What kind of BIG lights have you got. My 1200 lumen Magic shine (which seemed amazing 5 years ago) are probably way out of date by now. I'm guessing its more like 2400 lumens these days.
