Nothing against lager fwends either ... not proud me@Aleman
However, if your name was Lagerman you'd probably have gotten a pm from him saying "Fwends! Lager Fwends!"![]()
I could have done with another 5Km uphill and I might, just might, have caught youWell I wasn't expecting such a strong finish from you lot at the front. In my deluded frame of mind I actually thought I was going to win that.
Instead everyone just started pulling away as soon as we hit the up-slope. That'll teach me.![]()
Instead, you was as always a gentleman, supporting me from the side of the roadGood luck Sir, I’ll be throwing tacks on the road for you. No really, I hope your chain doesn’t come off, or you get cramp.. that would be awful.. for you...![]()
I think you'd had a lot of red wine that night
That was possibly my best race ever. I am so buzzing after that. With a couple of km to go I could feel the tension. So loved thatSome great times out there. Massive push from @Whorty to win a sprint finish!
I was hoping I could take @Rod McG with me on that final few km but the other guy started to pull away so I had to go with him. The sod did not want to work though, he kept pulling back behind me and trying to make me work. He made the mistake though of working over the last few km which gave me just the rest I needed for that monster sprintOutstanding finish by @Whorty![]()
I think you probably would have. I'd have thrown up if there was another 5k of that.I could have done with another 5Km uphill and I might, just might, have caught you![]()
to be fair @BILL S i was also expecting you to win that. I kept looking behind to see where you was, and trying to work out how I was going to get on your wheel and drop the other guy.Well I wasn't expecting such a strong finish from you lot at the front. hi GW, as one OAP (65) to another i hope you do come back, we need to try to keep these (as you put it) whipper snappers in their place and maybe if the handicap series returns we would be in with a chance, i'm hoping to start cycling again (doctors willing) around January, good luck with whatever you do
At 17 years my elder Steve, you certainly give me a run for my money!
Thanks Whorty, I was clearly not trying hard enough! I might have managed to keep up if it had been 5 k shorter!I was hoping I could take @Rod McG with me on that final few km but the other guy started to pull away so I had to go with him.
