Instead everyone just started pulling away as soon as we hit the up-slope. That'll teach me.

That was possibly my best race ever. I am so buzzing after that. With a couple of km to go I could feel the tension. So loved that
I was hoping I could take @Rod McG with me on that final few km but the other guy started to pull away so I had to go with him. The sod did not want to work though, he kept pulling back behind me and trying to make me work. He made the mistake though of working over the last few km which gave me just the rest I needed for that monster sprintOutstanding finish by @Whorty

I think we had the advantage though of draft off each other but your nose was in the wind the whole way.

And I thought you were in the bag when I was only 11 seconds behind you when it turned uphill. I hated that.

Thanks Whorty, I was clearly not trying hard enough! I might have managed to keep up if it had been 5 k shorter!I was hoping I could take @Rod McG with me on that final few km but the other guy started to pull away so I had to go with him.
