Good Q - but both Ant+
I didn't see Tom, but we should have waited until 13:00, Marianne is one of my all time heroes.Looks like we get to ride with Tom View attachment 516218
Geek answer of the year, but interesting nonetheless. Guess I'm a geek!Okay, 2 problems. ANT+ has a "sticky" feature, meaning it will hold watts a little longer. Bkool Simulator has a "safety measure" to circumvent smaller ANT+ signal dropouts, i.e. hold watts (more or less) even if no watts are reported from the trainer. Using this with a trainer that you can switch off, allows for some interesting "tactics". Go back like a 1.000 pages or so in this forum and read about some peoples experiments with that.![]()
He musnt have been aware he should have been on. Did you say its raining where you are today? I'm going in the garden for our yearly day of sunI didn't see Tom, but we should have waited until 13:00, Marianne is one of my all time heroes.
Do you have power meter on your bike or pedals that calculate power.@Randyberlin my rides were delayed too, yesterday's have now come through overnight but Friday's is still AWOL in Strava although it is in Bkool.

Whilst digging around in Bkool I noticed I've been promoted to Active 3 - yay! Apparently my Thursday race caused an FTP calculation of 268 - very flattering (for me anyway) but I think Bkool is generous with the watts, my watch (Garmin Fenix) pairs with my bike and didn't improve on 263 so I'd rather go with that. Being a geek I looked through the data and it seems that if I spin up the crank and generate a lot of power for a short time my watch will correctly drop the power off once I stop pushing, however Bkool seems to wind it back down more gently giving you free watts for a couple of seconds - I doubt this makes much difference on most rides as during a normal race as we're generally pedaling consistently but I expect on descents it can happen between freewheeling, most likely Bkool behaves the same for everyone but anyone else noticed this?
I manually reset my FTP down to 263 and still scraped Active 3 so still yay!
68lbs wow that'll get you up the hills!Do you have power meter on your bike or pedals that calculate power.
Just wondering that's all cos I also have a fenix watch. I can recall my watch showing my FTP. I'll have a look on Garmin connect
Just been fiddling and can't seem to edit my weight in the Garmin connect app for weight based FTP. Did it earlier but didn't read it properly because I entered my weight as 68lbs not kgs😂
I now have power to weight ratio of 6.48 which ain right
So I should be able to add my garmin to my smart pro 2 as its also ant+ gonna try tomorrow68lbs wow that'll get you up the hills!
Mine's a Fenix 5 (2 models old now) and it pairs with my Wattbike Atom no problem, if your trainer talks Ant+ then add it but if it only talks Bluetooth then I wouldnt do it as I think Bluetooth is a single channel so can only be paired to one device at a time and you'll want to save that for your Bkool device tablet/laptop etc..
If Ant+ then to pair new stuff on the watch hold the menu button then scroll down to settings, Sensors and Activities then 'Add new'. Next time you ride on the start line start an activity as you would an outside ride but choose <Bike Indoor> rather than ride, it'll then go and find your gear. remember to stop it at the end and then it'll start firing stats at you.
To set weight in Garmin Connect (on Android at least) open the menu then scroll down to Settings (Gear Icon) then chose user settings you can fix it in there.
Ok great thanks. I'll try that. Mine in a fenix 3.68lbs wow that'll get you up the hills!

Great, you can connect your watch and then Garmin Connect will track FTP (possibly less generous than Bkool if it's working like mine). If Garmin Connect is synced with Strava you will start to get two entries in Strava though, I just delete the Garmin one as otherwise it gets added into the total amount of work done and doubles up the 'fitness' score but it does allow you to spot differences in the data if you want to spend more time staring at numbersOk great thanks. I'll try that. Mine in a fenix 3.
I use ant + when connected to my tacx neo. Bkool gave me an FTP that I didn't believe so lowered it.
I didn't know about the schedule but 18:00 cet is good for me....anybody else?Is this the one we are doing @keithaitch View attachment 516539
