Just taken delivery of, and obviously, immediately set up the new kickr core. First reaction, very very pleased, solid, very stable, and quieter than heaven on a Saturday night. I might give it a serious work out later or i might have a 🍻. Hopefully I will no longer be starting half a km after everybody else when the leagues start up again.

Surprised that you, as a mountain goat, opted for a trainer that only simulates 16%. A NEO 2(T) (25%) or even the 2018+ non-Core KICKR (20%) would give you the better "experience".

I have to admit cost was a consideration. Also the lack of stupid gradients in big ring which I intend to use more next winter rather than bkools non cyclechat leagues. Two league rides, league handicap, couple of big ring rides and couple of real world. That's my week sorted.

I just finished my first real ride on the Neo 2t. It is amazing realistic compared to the BKOOL pro for a fat rider like myself. At one point on 17% (Curse you @Mark68 ) I wanted to get off and push it up the hill. I was feeling stupid for spending $1258 for a new trainer when I’m not that good of a rider, but now I realize it is a great bargain.

I put an 11/40 on my kickr. I'm slug slow going up the hills/mountains but at my power and weight it has helped me develop a spinning cadence on almost everything up to about 7 or 8%.

I've matched it on the wheel for the bike so when I do go out on it I am not shocked by how slow I am

Thanks to your advice I bought an 11/36- the biggest I could fit on the Shimano mid cage. It really does help on the hills. I was using a 34 and thought that would be good enough but I’m glad I took your advice. My cadence is now accurate because the BKOOL algorithm had to cut it to simulate the power. Back to my very consistent real world 73... something I need to work on.

You improved your time but, sorry, I'm still number 1 in the US.

Edit: You couldn't get 3 more seconds to beat @AndyMacca ?
😆 Nope I was totally cooked. I will set it as a target for my, but the amount of effort required to gain a handful of seconds maybe too much. The. I will have totally overdone it and @AndyMacca will just go out again and put just a little more effort in and put me back where I started.
He usually does beat me and does have a higher average wattage than I do.
If I can just get ahead once I will be very happy.

I have uploaded another route to Bkool with video. It is my ride back home from work. Another route that will suit the faster chaps that can achieve higher speeds on the flatter courses. @Brusgaard and @AndyMacca and @keithaitch. In fact I think most of you should do better than me on that one.
I have been struggling to get my 1 hour video converted into a small enough file to be accepted by Bkool and still keep a reasonable quality video

What is the name of the route? Not finding it under your name.

I'll give you the heads up on here if I here anything
I re rode Birdsall yesterday and again worried about running into the back of the gray van...
