I'm organising two new AUK events in September - the Thanet Platinum 200 (BR) and Thanet Platinum 110 (BP). The name comes from the fact that 2017 is the 70th anniversary of my club, Thanet RC.
Both rides are on Saturday 2nd and will start and finish at Goody Ales brewery in Herne Common - as well as food at the finish (including some excellent local produce), the bar will be open, serving Goody Ales' superb beers, plus local cider, wine and soft drinks. There is also the option of camping the night before/after the event.
The route for the 200 is mostly rolling country lanes through Kent and East Sussex, with a section along the south coast through Bexhill and Hastings. It's hilly in places but overall not a horrendous amount of climbing. The 110 is the same but shorter - and misses out the bit along the south coast.
