Welcome to my world - as evidenced last year...
And it's happened again (as noted by @sevenfourate on Strava) - I've had to add an extra couple of miles onto the end of today's ride due to this bloody thing. To use his comment - #50k life
Everything these days seems to be either a 10 - 15 mile loop of Felixstowe (mainly shopping) or a 50k of some sort. I may even combine the two on Wednesday and do 3 x 10 and a bit mile loops to visit 3 different shops.

Turned out to be thoroughly grey and misty all day here, so this half joking post is what happened. Had to do the Morrisons run as the first leg to get some custard doughnuts to have at the end of each leg.

Another 50km Dawn raid. I’m enjoying it right now (*And I’m in the USA on vacation for the last two weeks of the month)…..so going with the flow 🚴😁

Somewhere very dark, very early on the Norfolk Broads. **In Suffolk 🤣

Pushing a little bit harder according to the MPH. Or the Winter work and regular rides are helping me along……. 👍

January: 2 rides, 4 points
February: 6 rides, 8 points
1st March: 31.08 miles - Rode until my Garmin said I'd done 25km, did a U-turn and came home exactly the same route. Getting over a cold so didn't feel like doing much more than that - https://www.strava.com/activities/17565282742 - 1 point

8th March: 68.04 miles - Up into the Chiltern Hills proper for the first time this year, though first half of the ride was very misty once at any elevation. Bakery stop in Gerrards Cross was much needed - https://www.strava.com/activities/17650591102 - 1 point

Total so far: 16 points
3 points Steve

Blame the copy and paste gremlins. My total did include the 3 points (13 -> 16) but I didn't amend it on the ride itself.

As the car I'd normally use to mixed-mode commute is poorly and at the garage, it was an easy decision to get a couple of half-centuries in this week, as my total distance to work is around 30 miles.

I got my "to see with" light out the cupboard and charged up, but in fact it was already light enough when I left at 6:15am. Bit drizzly, and occasionally gusty, but otherwise good conditions. Got into the office just a few minutes before 9am -- I'm typically quite a bit later even on a good day, so that was a result! Used a new route over the North Downs via Hawley's Corner (the highest point in Greater London), with the advantage of a steady downhill almost all the way from then on, rather than my more direct routes which place two or three big lumps in the way.

Plan for tomorrow is to come back a rather more fiddly way in order to pick up some gaps in my VeloViewer tiling -- and as it'll be hillier, it'll also qualify for the Lunacy Climbing challenge.

March 17th: Cycle to work: East Grinstead, Lingfield, Limpsfield, Hawley's Corner, Biggin Hill, Keston, Catford, Nunhead, OKR, Holborn. 56kms.

Target ascent: 600m

Ride 3, Mar 18th: Holborn, East Dulwich, Sydenham Hill (3 different ascents), Shirley, New Addington, Tatsfield, Woldingham station. 46kms, 636m ascent
As a newbie to the challenge just to let you know my eyes are everywhere and I spot all rides failing just short of the magical 50km . Please for the sake of my OCD please round up to the appropriate distance 😁

One of my favourite routes today a simple out & back from home to Midford via Bitton, Bath & The Two Tunnels.
Approx. 99% on cycle paths, there's just a small road section in Bath.

It's perfectly measured for this challenge too, being exactly 50 kms !

The ride can be split into four parts :

- busy Bristol to Bitton
- leisurely Bitton to Bath
- chaotic Bath Linear Park, with so many dog walkers on elongated leads or no leads
- delightful Two Tunnels section.
