Since there's talk of best and worst Xmas gifts... what are the best board games you never had?

Loved playing Crossfire at my friend's and cousin's houses, never had it myself though

And this one...

Abalone... a strange cross between checkers and sumo, brilliant game... and also hard to find

There was a set at my nanna's place. actually, you don't want to play it. Just set it up, trigger the trap then outside to play cricket. It was a terrible game. Not cricket (tippity-runs) but mouse trap.

Another vote for Risk. My mate had a set, and we would often play until the small hours in his front room. It was the only valid excuse my parents would accept for being out after 11 pm.
