BSB Motors
Altofts Road
Normanton
Wakefield

Until about 2 months ago, this garage had (as far as I know) been in the hands of the same family, certainly since we've lived here (20+ years)
So far, I can't find out if the new owners are flattening the premises/emptying the back yard, for housing, or simply refurbishing?

To the right of the building was a 'tyre services' (new/part-worns/repairs)
They'd only charge £10, even if your tyre looked like it had lost a fight with a metal porcupine, as long as it was a legal repair (not on/near the 'shoulder')

With regard to the garage closure, immediately above, a banner has appeared on the fencing

I came across this, purely by chance
I've been up it, but a long time ago, possibly 20 years, or more?*
I've got to agree, it's an impressive view from the top

The Council website gives details of 'climbing days' & I'm on day-off, for its next 2 Saturday openings!

Boundary Stone
NewLands Lane
Altofts
Wakefield

I’ve known of this, for almost as long as the other stone nearby, but it’s usually quite overgrown with the ‘hedge’

I remember the boarded up house being restored from dereliction, but it was supposedly on the HS2 route, & made a compulsory purchase, now it stands empty

This 'BP', is just west of the Park Lodge (long demolished, but I remember the pile of rubble); https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=16.8&lat=53.69801&lon=-1.44703&layers=168&b=ESRIWorld&o=97

It's not far from where I had to perform the 'Manitou manoeuvre' (just over the left hand field)

Boundary Stone, & Stanley Lodge, are on this page; https://www.stanleyhistoryonline.com/Newland-Estate.html

I'm not certain what bank it would have been?
