It was 'invented' by the Lovat family in the 1980's for tweed and tartan outfits. It's a blend of green, yellow, blue and grey, according to what I read. I asked customers their thoughts about it, in the retro clothing shop yesterday. All said it was a quality coat.One said he paid £1,500 for a Burberry raincoat that wasn't all that wonderful, saying with Burberry you pay for the name more than the quality of the item. Anyway, I'll keep thinking about it as it is a lot for a cotton and wool coat that would be more for looks, rather than practicality. If I were to buy it I'd wear it over my suits and jackets and trousers as it says the coat should be ordered in your size and not a bigger size as it is made to be worn over suits and jackets, not just over jumpers and shirts.
