I used to have a big ex Royal Navy coat. It was great but very tatty.

Before I moved to the states in the 80s I turned up at my parents house with a load of crap for them to store and my mum not unreasonably pointed out "that's a load of crap" and did not sign up to acting as a crap storage agent so most of it was binned, including the tatty coat.

A friend of a friend had bought an old army coat in a military surplus shop and was walking down Oxford Street in it, when he was accosted by an elderly gent "How dare you wear the buttons of the Regiment !" and chased him waving his walking stick at him. As scruffy student in an old coat he wasn't exactly trying to pass himself off as ex-military.

Aye, my M1965 pattern jacket is a winter and foul weather staple.

I have a 1950/60s leather French pompier, army and airforce coat, which I wear if I want to go to a 1940s reenactment of some kind, it’s almost identical to a wartime German coat.

driza-bone riding coat, 90s
christian dior trench with zip-in liner, 90s, dior did a refurb on it last year
dolce & gabbana leather trench, current

I wore my latest Cordings buy today. Its a 'British warm coat', based on the type worn by Winston Churchill during WW2. So I suppose its classed as a military style coat!

Not since the early nineties, the ladies were powerless when you had that stuff on. 😂

I bought a bottle yesterday from Boots in Clitheroe, next door to Cowmans sausages!😉

I stopped dressing up as a solider when I was 11 although at one point I think about going for the real thing.😉
