I can’t be bothered looking up those particular shoes, but Herrings tell us that some of their shoes are indeed made by Northampton makers like Barkers, Cheaney and others, depending on the right maker and price for that style.

Edit, the brogues shown above are listed as from Portugal, no slouches when it comes to shoe making. Remember, shoes weren’t invented in Northants, and Shock, Horror, Goodyear welting is an American invention.

Well yes, Portugal, and Spain where I think those black and white brogues are made are reputable shoe making countries.

On Wednesday while mooching in Cambridge before the beer fest managed to get a Carhartt shirt and vintage-is Oakland Raiders* t-shirt so more in the vein of AndyRM than Accy cyclist .

*And yes I do actually follow the now Las Vegas Raiders as they now are.

I bought a shirt today from Elan Boutique in Clitheroe, Lancashire.

I'll try it on later. I hope it's long enough in the arms, which is always a concern when I buy shirts, jackets and woolens.

I always rather liked co-respondant shoes but never quite had the nerve. There was a pair of tan and white Crockett & Jones for a reasonable £250 ( they would be £600 new) on fleabay, but whilst a "bargain" it's still a lot of dosh for a very occasional wear, and cheap ones don't really appeal. Those Herring ones seem OK as they're Goodyear welted albeit presumably not from Northamton.

I finally opened

I think they might've sold out in all sizes left as on pressing the link, it leads you to a 'chat with us' page, not the actual item.🤔 Those trousers are approximately 11 ounces per square yard in weight. To me who wears heavy 26 ounce tweed suits and trousers that's lightweight, but Kit Blake advertises them as a 'heavy material' for the autumn and winter. I think being made in Italy, they are designed for their warmer than our's weather, probably seen as too warm for their spring and summers, but over here, to me they are a perfect weight for our none too warm 'warmer months'.

I've finally opened the parcel that came thirteen days ago.

I'm taking them into that tailor shop in Accrington this afternoon to get them hemmed up. As with the previous Kit Blake trousers I bought, the wool is very soft and nice to the touch.😉
