Imagine the above trousers with those green loafers. The trousers are 'formal wear', but they could be worn casually, especially if I had 1.5 inch cuffs/turn ups, as they come with a unfinished hem. I'm thinking of me buying and wearing them with the green loafers for my mod/scooterist event next month. The colours of the trousers and the colour of the shoes would certainly compliment each other, according to the colour wheel.

They have the same trousers in a red check. They remind me of the late 1970's when a similar tartan trouser was worn with a black leather motorcycle jacket in punk rock circles, to be seen quite often.

There was a local pub landlord (Roland Rathbone was his name) I remember in the 1970's and 1980's who wore high waist trousers like the above. On first seeing him in them and laughing, as you do as a spotty youth, he collared me, telling me in no uncertain terms that he'd tell my dad who was a customer in the pub and also ban me from his pub!😯 Needless to say I never mocked his high waist trousers ever again!🙄😉

How about one of these for peak eccentricity, and dare I say style!🤔 The gold tassle is detachable, should you feel like backing down slightly in your eccentric appearance.🧐

I am very tempted. I need a good excuse, as I live by myself, seldom entertain, and have not smoked for thirty years.

One would need a smoking jacket, of course…

On the subject of eccentric hats I saw an advertisement for a straw boater at a rather modest price.

Don't go buying a straw boater, or any summer hat for that matter as summer's now over! Get one of these instead!😎😉 Annoyingly CC won't accept photos of the hat, but I'm sure that you can look for yourself.🧐

Picked up some Gucci loafers/driving shoes for £6 yesterday, they look Kosher and are obviously well made (leather lining etc) ,bit scruffy but have scrubbed up ok; not my usual thing but they'll make nice slippers ^_^.

Pic here with the Gleneagles shoes I got a few days back ;

The shoes were about £11 and just needed a buff up with dubbin and new laces.
