Yes Would be in Merida tonight but its a big holiday. Thursday, Friday and the weekend,the Spanish are big on holiays. Merida was expensive for hotels , Saturday has more choice and cheaper, in Aceuchal tonight.

Looking at the date stamps on the photos you are a few days or a week ahead. Are you going to Santiago,the north coast or east to France?

Jan/Feb 2022 - Seville to Caceres. Aug/Sept 2023 - Caceres to Santiago (Sanabres). Then home.

I was following your Ruta thread to see if you go over the Picos to Oviedo/Gijon. Have not done that section (yet)
