Just had an email from Amazon promoting their upcoming sales promotions. They are pushing their own brand TV ( no doubt laden with unskippable ads ). I think our telly is about 43". I was somewhat taken aback at their recommended screen size vs viewing distance. I sit about 3-4 metres from the screen and have informed Mrs Tkk that we need a new TV 😉

Err, that doesn't make sense.

I've a 31inch set and I sit about 4m away. Any closer would be quite uncomfortable. Some people must have really bad eyesight.

I think ours is 46" or 48" and we sit around 4m away and it is perfectly clear.

Some of the TV sizes and viewing distances already mentioned seem crazy.

We know one couple who have this huge thing hung on their wall and they sit <3m away. And they have a huge soundbar thingy and they have it turned up really loud. Dodgy eyes AND ears!

Mines a 55", which for the viewing distances involved is about perfect.

Not that I actually watch it very often!

I’ve been watching for nearly 5 hours solid. I binged Borderline, an Irish cop drama.
