Just been out for a ride - the puddles are back!!
not seen some of them for many months - some never normally disappear totally but did this year!
anyway - amusing thing
on the way out I was on the canal path and there was a couple in front of me coming towards me
the path was quite wide with grass on either side but not wide enough for me to pass unless we both went to the side
They could clearly see me but i rang my bell gently anyway
the woman was in the front and basically stayed in the middle of the path
the bloke was behind and made me think of a 1960s hippy that had lived that live for as long as he could
but had succumbed to the ageing process and given in to the beige jumper and NHS walking stick - but looked happy with life!
his wife - no so much
anyway - I approached and passed them on the long muddy grass
but still thanked them as the bloke did move over as much as he could
his wife made an annoyed sound a bit like "hoooooo"
anyway I went to where I normally stop and had my drink and apple then decided to just head back the way I had come
so I ran across them again - they had also turned round
This time the path was quite narrow and the sides where not flat
so I just stopped and let them walk past
so the woman was forced to say "thank you"
and I just said "That's OK - it's all a bit narrow on this bit"
she looked like she was chewing gravel!!
the bloke looked amused
