Can I have a rant? Please. OK, a short one. Thank you.

1¾ hours to do a 34 mile round trip. It should be 40 minutes. 22 minutes to travel 1.3 miles from my house to the motorway. I know what UU are doing so I'll forgive that. On to the M65 eastbound. Queue. Why? At junction 5, outside lane, westbound a driver "driving" (a loose term) a huge, black BMW had rammed in to the back of a small white car.

This caused a 13½ mile tail back westbound and +/- 3 miles eastbound!!! What is it with these people? Why "drive" these enormous cars so feckin' fast you can't stop?

Apologies to any of you who drive an enormous BNW. I'm sure you're very responsible and know what I mean.

Yesterday I watched a woman in a huge Merc try to reverse into a car park space. She had to give up. A few moments later another lady in an enormous Porsche took 4 corrections to get in the same space.

Why????

I have noticed that our car is quite a bit wider than the previous one
which is nice in tha tthere is more room inside
but it does mean that getting into parking spaces is harder

apparently - so I have read - the standard recommendation for the size of a parking space has not changed since the 1960s

when cars were things like minis and moggie minors!!!
which are somewhat narrower!!

They seem to be getting bigger and bigger with each model upgrade too. I walked past a 25 plate Dacia Duster yesterday and it looked massive compared to what they originally looked like when they first came out.

Exactly - our old car was just an older model of the current one - 2 models on

but significantly wider

and SWMBO's son have an electric SUV thingy which is wider than ours

wonder how we coped in the old days when Moses drove a 2CV across the Red Sea!!!

Ironing done, 10 minute breather while I watch the end of Landman.

Mayor of Kingstown getting good. Very murdery.

As much as I love my telly watching, I have never been tempted to put it on this early other than for something like a big sporting event.

Still gorgeous here. Chilly but dry and sunny. I was needing tomatoes so just back from a wander up to the Co-op. They have 4 packs of Branston beans for £2.50 so I got a couple of them too.

The telly keeps me occupied while im ironing. Its now off and Planet Rock is burbling away quietly.

Hi folks :okay: sunny here in Brora but the ice is lingering so thats scuppered any chance of a spin. Walked the beach and came across a dead porpoise, no evidence of what caused its demise.
Doing my usual maintenance i heard some rather nasty graunchy noises around my rear wheel..thought it might be hub bearings but turned out it was my chain. Must be all the salt i guess, brushed the chain clean in tub of turps, reoiled and all is running smoothly. :okay:
