A good friend just phoned to let me know that her mum passed away today. Her mum was temporarily in a local care home and was due to come home today. It was somewhat expected as her mum was 98. The care home is in walking distance and when they phoned to say that the Doctor was with her mum she was able to be there in less than 10 minutes. The care home is one of the big national ones, when she walked to reception she was asked " have you got your cheque book?."😮😥

Hope she did not pay.
The correct procedure is for the care centre to lodge a claim against her Mum's estate meaning it could take a while for them to be paid!

Good morning all.
I was woken up sometime in the middle of the night by heavy overnight rain, it's stopped now and although it's cold it should be a reasonable day in prospect .

Coooeee. 4 deg here so a lot better than the -6 we had yesterday. We had pots of rain overnight so all the snow will be gone.

A sub tropical 5 degrees here in Dorset. Must go for a run as I'm starting to get running dreams again. These usually involve me being in a race somewhere and losing my way with increasingly bizarre situations thwarting my attempts to get back on route 🤔

I might have to pop out today for an hour, drop off a trim parts for the volvo to be hydrodipped to replicate its original finish.

Off out for a bit of local shopping and to post a few Bantam spares.
It's a little bit warmer this morning but still no sign of snow.

Bit milder here, dry but very windy.
Supposed to be riding this morning so that might be interesting. Need to plan a sheltered route if possible but with 30mph gusts might be tricky.

A belated godd morning to all.
Slept heavy and on my 2nd coffee, trying to wake up.
Re dunking biscuits, I think it was Welshie that recommended biscuits laced with viagra to stop them drooping.
Re driving tests......like boldon lad i was 16 (back in 1964). Took 1 lesson, the instructor arrange my test and 6 weeks later I had a full licence .
One task for today (maybe 2).
I am putting a corned beef hash in the slow cooker.
I should strip the bed and do the washing but I need to be at least 1/2 awake for that.
I will cogitate.
