So tell me (i am a technophobe).....if I have this down loaded then find i'm in a situation.......what steps do I take?

Tell whichever emergency service you contact the three words the app gives you & they know exactly where you are without you having to try & explain using pubs, road names or landmarks etc.

Give it a go and see which words it chooses (best not post them here or some of the ladies might start queuing up at the door!)

Edit: The RAC, too, asked for it when I had a car problem.

Summer is over then. Bit grey and some rain forecast but nothing too bad.

As for what3words, some delivery companies use it to locate address etc although main application is for emergency situations.
I've got it on phone, super easy. Install app and and just open it and it'll show your location with three words(obvs).

Example cat.sat.mat so if say you had an accident somewhere remote you call 999 or whatever tell them the 3 words and they'll know exactly where you are. Of course needs phone signal to do this.

You can practice at home, watch how the 3 words change as you walk just a few metres.

Morning strangers!
What have I missed?
Long run back from the Alps broken by a visit to the very quaint “Village of Yesteryear” museum in Saint Quentin. Worth a visit if you’re travelling past. Funny to discover my first moped - a funky orange Mobylette - was born there back in the 70s 😜
Shame the weather couldn’t hold on: we have a big family party at the weekend for our lad’s 30th, & I’m in charge of pizza cooking….might need to get the gazebo out tomorrow 🫣
Have a nice day 🙏
